2 நீ இஸ்ராயேல் மக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட வேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: அவர்கள் தங்கள் சொந்த நிலத்தில் லேவியருக்கு இடம் தரவேண்டும்.

5 நகரங்கள் நடுவில் இருக்க, நகரங்களைச் சேர்ந்த வெளிகள் அவற்றைச் சுற்றி இருக்கும். இவைகளுக்கும் அவைகளுக்கும் கீழ்ப்புறத்தில் இரண்டாயிரம் முழமும், தென்புறத்தில் இரண்டாயிரம் முழமும், மேற்புறத்தில் இரண்டாயிரம் முழமும், வடபுறத்தில் இரண்டாயிரம் முழமும் (இடைவெளி இருக்கும்படி அளந்துவிடுவீர்கள்).

10 நீ இஸ்ராயேல் மக்களிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: நீங்கள் யோர்தானைக் கடந்து கானான் நாடு சேர்ந்த பின்பு,

11 இந்நகரங்களில் தன்னறிவின்றிக் கொலை செய்தவன் ஓடி ஒழியத்தக்க அடைக்கல நகரங்கள் எவையென்று நீங்கள் தீர்மானித்துக் குறிக்கக் கடவீர்கள்.

12 கொலை செய்து அவைகளில் அடைக்கலம் புகுந்தவன் சபையிலே நியாயம் விசாரிக்கப்படுவதற்குமுன் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவனுடைய உறவினர் கையாலே அவன் சாகாமல் தப்பித்துக்கொள்வான்.

13 ஆதலால், அடைக்கலம் என்று குறிக்கப்படும் நகரங்களில்,

14 யோர்தானுக்கு இப்பால் மூன்றும் கானான் இருக்க வேண்டும்

15 தன்னறிவின்றி கொலை செய்தவன் இஸ்ராயேல் மகனானாலும், உங்கள் நடுவே இருக்கும் அகதியானாலும், அந்நியனானாலும் அங்கே அடைக்கலம் புகலாம்.

16 ஒருவன் இருப்பாயுதத்தால் மற்றொருவனை அடித்திருக்க அடியுண்டவன் இறந்தால், அடித்தவன் கொலைபாதகன் என்று கொலை செய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

17 ஒருவன் மற்றொருவன் மேலே கல்லெறிந்திருக்க எறிபட்டவன் இறந்தால், கல்லெறிந்தவன் அவ்விதமே கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவேண்டும்.

18 ஒருவன் மர ஆயுதத்தாலே அடிபட்டு இறந்தால், அடித்தவன் கொலை செய்யப்படுவதாலே அந்தப் பழி தீரும்.

19 கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவனுடைய உறவினர் கொலைபாதகனைக் கொல்ல வேண்டும். அவனைக் கண்டவுடனே அவர்கள் அவனைக் கொண்று விடுவார்கள்.

20 ஒருவன் பகையால் மற்றொருவனை விழத் தள்ளினான்; அல்லது பதுங்கியிருந்து அவன் மேல் ஏதேனும் எறிந்தான்; அல்லது அவனை விரோதித்துக் கையால் அடித்தான்:

21 அவ்வாறு செய்யப்பட்டவன் இறந்தானாயின் அதைச் செய்தவன் கொலை பாதகனாகையால் கொலை செய்யப்படுவான். இறந்தவனுடைய உறவினர் அவனைக் கண்டவுடனே கொன்றுவிடுவார்கள்.

27 அவனைக் கண்டுபிடித்துக் கொன்று பழிவாங்குவோனுக்குக் குற்றம் இல்லை.

28 ஏனென்றால், ஓடிப்போனவன் தலைமைக் குருவின் மரணம் வரையிலும் அடைக்கல நகரத்தில் இருந்திருக்கவேண்டும். தலைமைக்குரு இறந்த பின்னரோ, கொலை செய்தவன் தன் சொந்த ஊருக்குத் திரும்பிப் போகத் தடையில்லை.

29 இவை உங்கள் உறைவிடங்களெங்கும் நித்திய சட்டமாய் வழங்கி வரக்கடவன.

30 கொலை செய்தவன் சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கு மூலத்தின்படியே தண்டிக்கப்படுவான். மேலும், ஒரே சாட்சியைக் கொண்டு ஒரு மனிதன் சாகும்படி தீர்ப்புச் செய்யலாகாது.

31 இரத்தம் சிந்திய மனிதன் தன் உயிருக்காக பணத்தைக் கொடுத்தாலும் நீங்கள் வாங்கலாகாது. அவன் செத்தே தீர வேண்டும்.

32 அடைக்கலம் புகுந்தவர்கள் அடைக்கல நகரத்திலிருந்து குருவின் மரணத்திற்கு முன் தங்கள் ஊருக்குக் கண்டிப்பாய்த் திரும்பிப் போகலாகாது.

33 நீங்கள் குடியேறின நாடு குற்றமில்லாதவருடைய இரத்தத்தினால் தீட்டுள்ளதாகி விட்டதே! அந்த தீட்டு இரத்தம் சிந்திய பாதகனுடைய இரத்தத்தாலன்றி மற்ற எதனாலும் கழுவப்படாதென்று (நீங்கள் மறவாதபடிக்கு அதைச் சொன்னோம்).

34 அவ்வாறு உங்கள் நாடு தூய்மை பெறும். நாமும் அப்பொழுது உங்களோடு வாழ்ந்திருப்போம். ஏனென்றால், ஆண்டவராகிய நாம் இஸ்ராயேல் மக்கள் நடுவே வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறோம் என்று திருவுளம்பற்றினார்.

4 And the suburbs ^H4054 of the cities ^H5892 , which ^H834 ^RPRO ye shall give ^H5414 unto the Levites ^H3881 , shall reach from the wall ^H7023 of the city ^H5892 ^D-GFS and outward ^H2351 a thousand ^H505 ^W-BMS cubits ^H520 ^UFS round about ^H5439 .

6 And among ^H854 the cities ^H5892 which ^H834 ^RPRO ye shall give ^H5414 unto the Levites ^H3881 there shall be six ^H8337 ^RFS cities ^H5892 for refuge ^H4733 , which ^H834 ^RPRO ye shall appoint ^H5414 for the manslayer ^H7523 , that he may flee ^H5127 thither ^H8033 ^ADV-3FS : and to ^H5921 them ye shall add ^H5414 forty ^H705 ^MMP and two ^H8147 ^W-OFD cities ^H5892 .

7 So all ^H3605 ^NMS the cities ^H5892 which ^H834 ^RPRO ye shall give ^H5414 to the Levites ^H3881 shall be forty ^H705 ^MMP and eight ^H8083 ^W-MFS cities ^H5892 ^GFS : them shall ye give with ^H854 their suburbs ^H4054 .

8 And the cities ^H5892 which ^H834 ^RPRO ye shall give ^H5414 shall be of the possession ^H272 of the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 : from them that have many ^H7227 ye shall give many ^H7235 ; but from them that have few ^H4592 ^D-AMS ye shall give few ^H4591 : every one ^H376 ^NMS shall give ^H5414 ^VHFA of his cities ^H5892 unto the Levites ^H3881 according to ^H6310 ^K-CMS his inheritance ^H5159 which ^H834 ^RPRO he inheriteth ^H5157 .

16 And if ^H518 ^W-PART he smite ^H5221 him with an instrument ^H3627 of iron ^H1270 , so that he die ^H4191 , he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is a murderer ^H7523 : the murderer ^H7523 shall surely be put to death ^H4191 ^VQFA .

17 And if ^H518 ^W-PART he smite ^H5221 him with throwing ^H3027 ^NFS a stone ^H68 , wherewith ^H834 ^RPRO he may die ^H4191 ^VQY3MS , and he die ^H4191 , he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is a murderer ^H7523 : the murderer ^H7523 shall surely be put to death ^H4191 ^VQFA .

18 Or ^H176 ^CONJ if he smite ^H5221 him with a hand ^H3027 ^NFS weapon ^H3627 of wood ^H6086 ^NMS , wherewith ^H834 ^RPRO he may die ^H4191 ^VQY3MS , and he die ^H4191 , he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is a murderer ^H7523 : the murderer ^H7523 shall surely be put to death ^H4191 ^VQFA .

19 The revenger ^H1350 of blood ^H1818 himself ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS shall slay ^H4191 ^VHY3MS the murderer ^H7523 : when he meeteth ^H6293 him , he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS shall slay ^H4191 him .

20 But if ^H518 ^W-PART he thrust ^H1920 him of hatred ^H8135 , or ^H176 ^CONJ hurl ^H7993 at ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS him by laying of wait ^H6660 , that he die ^H4191 ^W-VQY3MS ;

21 Or ^H176 ^CONJ in enmity ^H342 smite ^H5221 him with his hand ^H3027 , that he die ^H4191 : he that smote ^H5221 him shall surely be put to death ^H4191 ; for he ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS is a murderer ^H7523 : the revenger ^H1350 of blood ^H1818 shall slay ^H4191 the murderer ^H7523 , when he meeteth ^H6293 him .

22 But if ^H518 ^W-PART he thrust ^H1920 him suddenly ^H6621 without ^H3808 ^B-NPAR enmity ^H342 , or ^H176 ^CONJ have cast ^H7993 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS him any thing ^H3605 ^NMS without ^H3808 ^B-NPAR laying of wait ^H6660 ,

27 And the revenger ^H1350 of blood ^H1818 find ^H4672 him without ^H2351 the borders ^H1366 of the city ^H5892 ^GFS of his refuge ^H4733 , and the revenger ^H1350 of blood ^H1818 kill ^H7523 the slayer ^H7523 ; he shall not ^H369 ^NPAR be guilty of blood ^H1818 ^NMS :

28 Because ^H3588 ^CONJ he should have remained ^H3427 in the city ^H5892 of his refuge ^H4733 until ^H5704 ^PREP the death ^H4194 of the high ^H1419 ^D-AMS priest ^H3548 : but after ^H310 the death ^H4194 of the high ^H1419 ^D-AMS priest ^H3548 the slayer ^H7523 shall return ^H7725 ^VQY3MS into ^H413 ^PREP the land ^H776 ^GFS of his possession ^H272 .

29 So these ^H428 ^PMP things shall be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3MS for a statute ^H2708 of judgment ^H4941 ^NMS unto you throughout your generations ^H1755 in all ^H3605 your dwellings ^H4186 .

30 Whoso ^H3605 ^NMS killeth ^H5221 any person ^H5315 ^GFS , the murderer ^H7523 shall be put to death ^H7523 by the mouth ^H6310 ^L-CMS of witnesses ^H5707 : but one ^H259 ^MMS witness ^H5707 shall not ^H3808 ^NADV testify ^H6030 ^VQY3MS against any person ^H5315 ^GFS to cause him to die ^H4191 .

31 Moreover ye shall take ^H3947 no ^H3808 ^W-NPAR satisfaction ^H3724 for the life ^H5315 ^L-GFS of a murderer ^H7523 , which ^H834 ^RPRO is guilty ^H7563 ^AMS of death ^H4191 ^L-VQFC : but ^H3588 ^CONJ he shall be surely put to death ^H4191 ^VQFA .

32 And ye shall take ^H3947 no ^H3808 ^W-NPAR satisfaction ^H3724 for him that is fled ^H5127 to ^H413 ^PREP the city ^H5892 ^GFS of his refuge ^H4733 , that he should come again ^H7725 to dwell ^H3427 ^L-VQFC in the land ^H776 ^B-NFS , until ^H5704 ^PREP the death ^H4194 of the priest ^H3548 .

33 So ye shall not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR pollute ^H2610 the land ^H776 ^D-GFS wherein ^H834 ^RPRO ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS are : for ^H3588 ^CONJ blood ^H1818 it ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS defileth ^H2610 the land ^H776 ^D-GFS : and the land ^H776 cannot ^H3808 ^W-NPAR be cleansed ^H3722 of the blood ^H1818 that ^H834 ^RPRO is shed ^H8210 therein , but ^H518 ^PART by the blood ^H1818 of him that shed ^H8210 it .

34 Defile ^H2930 not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR therefore the land ^H776 ^D-GFS which ^H834 ^RPRO ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS shall inhabit ^H3427 , wherein ^H834 ^RPRO I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS dwell ^H7931 ^VQPMS : for ^H3588 ^CONJ I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS dwell ^H7931 ^VQPMS among ^H8432 ^B-NMS the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 ^LMS .
