1 पित्याने आपल्यावर जे महान प्रेम केले आहे त्याविषयी विचार करा. आम्हांला देवाची मुले म्हणण्यापर्यंत त्याने प्रेम केले!आणि आम्ही खरोखरच (देवाची मुले) आहोत! या कारणामुळे जग आम्हाला ओळखत नाही, कारण त्यांनी (जगाने)ख्रिस्ताला ओळखले नाही.
2 2 प्रिय मित्रांनो, आता आम्ही देवाची मुले आहोत, आणि भविष्यकाळात कसे असेल ते अजूनमाहीत करुन देण्यात आले नाही. तरीही आम्हाला माहीत आहे की, जेव्हा ख्रिस्त पुन्हा येईल, तेव्हा आम्ही त्याच्यासारखेअसू. कारण तो जसा आहे तसे आम्ही त्याला पाहू.
3 3 आणि ज्या प्रत्येकाने ही आशा ख्रिस्तावर ठेवली आहे, तो स्वत:लाशुद्ध करतो, जसा ख्रिस्त शुद्ध आहे.
4 4 प्रत्येकजण जो पाप करतो तो देवाचा नियम मोडतो. कारण पाप हे नियमभंग आहे.
5 5 लोकांचे पाप घेऊन जाण्यासाठी ख्रिस्त प्रकट झाला हे तुम्हांस माहीत आहे, आणि त्याच्यामध्ये कोणतेही पाप नाही.

8 8 जोपापमय जीवन जगतच राहतो तो सैतानाचा आहे, कारण सैतान सुरुवातीपासून पाप करीत आहे आणि सैतानाची कामे नष्टकरावी या उद्देशानेच देवाचा पुत्र प्रकट झाला.
9 9 जो देवाचा पुत्र झाला आहे तो कोणीही पाप करीत नाही. कारण खुद्द देवाची बी त्या व्यक्तीमध्ये असते. त्यामुळे तो पापातराहू शकत नाही. कारण तो देवाचे मूल बनला आहे.
10 10 जी देवाची मुले आहेत व जी सैतानाची मुले आहेत, त्यांना तुम्हीअशा प्रकारे सांगू शकता: प्रत्येकजण जे योग्य ते करीत नाही आणि जो त्याच्या भावावर प्रेम करीत नाही तो देवाचा नाही.
11 11 आपण एकमेकांवर प्रीति करावी, ही शिकवण आपण सुरुवातीपासून ऐकली आहे.
12 12 काईन जो त्या दुष्टाचा (सैतानाचा)होता तसे आम्ही असू नये कारण त्याने त्याच्या भावाला मारले आणि कोणत्या कारणासाठी त्याने त्याला मारले? त्याने तसेकेले कारण त्याची स्वत:ची कृत्ये दुष्ट होती, तर त्याच्या भावाची कृत्ये चांगली होती.
13 13 बंधूनो, जर जग तुमचा द्वेष करते तर त्याचे आश्चर्य मानू नका.
14 14 आपल्याला माहीत आहे की, आपण मरणातूनजीवनात गेलो आहोत. कारण आपण आपल्या बंधूवर प्रीति करतो. जो प्रीति करीत नाही तो मरणात राहतो.
15 15 जो कोणीआपल्या भावाचा द्वेष करतो, तो खुनी आहे. आणि तुम्हांला माहीत आहे की, खुनी माणसाला त्याच्या ठायी असलेलेअनंतकाळचे जीवन मिळत नाही.
16 16 अशा रीतीने ख्रिस्ताने आपल्यासाठी स्वत:चा जीव दिला. यामुळे प्रेम काय आहे तेआपल्याला समजते. म्हणून आपण देखील आपल्या भावासाठी जीव दिला पाहिजे.
17 17 जर कोणाजवळ जगिक संपत्ती आहेआणि त्याचा भाऊ गरजेत आहे हे तो पाहतो पण तरीही त्याच्यावर दया करीत नाही तर त्याच्यामध्ये देवाची प्रीती राहतेअसे आपण कसे म्हणू शकतो?
18 18 प्रिय मुलांनो, आपली प्रीति केवळ शब्दांनी बोलण्याएवढीच मर्यादित नसावी तर ती कृतीसहीत व खरीखुरी असावी.
19 19 आम्ही सत्याचे आहोत ते यावरुन आम्हांस कळेल आणि अशाप्रकारे देवासमोर आमच्या अंत:करणाची खात्री पटेल
20 20 जेव्हा जेव्हा आमचे अंत:करण आम्हांला दोष देईल, हे यासाठी की आमच्या अंत:करणापेक्षा देव महान आहे, आणि सर्वकाही (तो) जाणतो.
21 21 प्रिय मित्रांनो, वाईट करण्याबद्दल जर आमची अंत:करणे आम्हांला दोष देत नाहीत तर देवाकडे जाण्यासाठी आम्हांलाखात्री आहे.
22 22 आणि देवाकडे आम्ही जे मागतो ते आम्हाला प्राप्त होते. कारण आम्ही त्याच्या आज्ञा पाळतो, आणित्याला जे संतोषकारक आहे ते आम्ही करीत आहोत.
23 23 तो आम्हांला अशी आज्ञा करतो की येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या नावावर आम्हीविश्वास ठेवला पाहिजे आणि एकमेकांवर प्रीति केली पाहिजे, जशी येशूने आम्हांला आज्ञा केली आहे.

19 And G2532 hereby G1722 G5129 we know G1097 that G3754 we are G2070 of G1537 the G3588 truth, G225 and G2532 shall assure G3982 our G2257 hearts G2588 before G1715 him. G846
20 For G3754 if G1437 our G2257 heart G2588 condemn G2607 us, G3754 God G2316 is G2076 greater G3187 than our G2257 heart, G2588 and G2532 knoweth G1097 all things. G3956
21 Beloved G27 , if G1437 our G2257 heart G2588 condemn G2607 us G2257 not, G3361 then have G2192 we confidence G3954 toward G4314 God. G2316
