1 दावीदाने पुन्हा इस्राएलमधून निवडक तीस हजार माणसे निवडून सैन्य तयार केले.
2 2 त्यासह तो पवित्र करार कोश यरुशलेमला आणण्यासाठी यहूदातील बाला येथे गेला. देवाची उपासना करायची असली म्हणजे हा कोश जेथे असेल तेथे लोकांना जावे लागे. हा पवित्र करार कोश म्हणजे देवाचे सिंहासन आहे. करुब देवदूतांच्या प्रतिकृती त्यावर होत्या. त्यावर परमेश्वर राजासारखा बसलेला होता.
3 3 अबीनादाबच्या डोंगरावरील घरातून दावीदाच्या लोकांनी हा पवित्र कोश आणला. मग तो एका नव्या गाडीवर ठेवला. अबीनादाबचे मुलगे उज्जा आणि अह्यो हे ती गाडी हाकीत होते.
4 4 अबीनादाबच्या डोंगरावरील घरातून हा पवित्र कोश त्यांनी वाहून आणला. अह्यो पवित्र कोशापुढे चालू लागला.
5 5 तेव्हा देवदाराच्या लाकडापासून केलेली नानाविध वाद्ये आणि वीणा, सारंगी, डफ, डमरु, झांजा वाजवत दावीद आणि त्याच्या बरोबरचे सर्व इस्राएल लोक नाचत कोशापुढे चालू लागले.
6 6 ते सर्व नाखोनच्या खळ्यापाशी आले तेव्हा बैल अडखळल्याने कोश गाडीतून पडायला लागला. तेव्हा उज्जाने तो सावरला.
7 7 पण परमेश्वराचा त्याच्यावर कोप होऊन उज्जाला मरण आले. पवित्र कोशाला स्पर्श करुन त्याने देवाविषयी अनादर दाखवला. तेव्हा करार कोशाशेजारीच उज्जा गतप्राण झाला.
8 8 या घटनेमुळे दावीद फार खिन्न झाला आणि त्याने या जागेचे नाव “पेरेस-उज्जा” म्हणजेच “उज्जाला शासन” असे ठेवले. आजही ते नाव प्रचलित आहे.
9 9 मात्र दावीदाला त्या दिवशी परमेश्वराचा धाक वाटू लागला. तो मनात म्हणाला, “आता मी हा पवित्र कोश माझ्याकडे कसा आणू?”
10 10 परमेश्वराचा पवित्र कोश (पवित्र कोशाची पेटी) आपल्याबरोबर दावीद नगरात आणण्याची दावीदाची इच्छा नव्हती आणि त्याने तो कोश (दावीदानगरात न हलवता) एका बाजूस नेऊन गथच्या ओबेद-अदोम याच्या घरी ठेवला.
11 11 तिथे तो कोश तीन महिने होता. ओबेद-अदोमच्या कुटुंबाला देवाने आशीर्वाद दिला.
12 12 पुढे लोक दावीदाला म्हणाले, “ओबेद अदोमच्या कुटुंबाला आणि त्याच्या सर्व मालमत्तेला परमेश्वराचा आशीर्वाद आहे. कारण पवित्र करार कोश तेथेच आहे.” तेव्हा दावीदाने तो पवित्र कोश त्याच्या घरातून आपल्याकडे आणला. यावेळी दावीदाचा आनंद गगनात मावत नव्हता.
13 13 कोश वाहून नेणारे लोक सहा पावले चालून गेल्यावर दावीदाने एक बैल आणि एक धष्टपुष्ट गोऱ्हा यांचा बळी दिला.
14 14 सुती एफोद घालून दावीद परमेश्वरापुढे नाच करत होता.
15 15 दावीद आणि सर्व इस्राएल लोक आनंदाने बेभान झाले होते. नगरात कोश आणताना ते जयजयकार करत होते. शिंग वाजवत होते.
16 16 शौलाची मुलगी मीखल हे सर्व खिडकीतून पाहात होती. कोश नगरात आणत असताना दावीद त्यापुढे नाचत. उड्या मारत होता. मीखलने हे पाहिले तेव्हा तिला खेद वाटला. दावीद स्वत:चे हसे करुन घेत आहे असे तिला वाटले.
17 17 या करार कोशासाठी दावीदाने राहुटी उभारली होती. त्यात योग्य जागी इस्राएली लोकांनी तो ठेवला. मग दावीदाने परमेश्वरापुढे होमार्पणे आणि शांत्यर्पणे वाहिली.
18 18 हे झाल्यावर दावीदाने सर्वांना सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वराच्या वतीने आशीर्वाद दिले.
19 19 शिवाय इस्राएलाच्या प्रत्येक स्त्री पुरूषांस त्याने भाकरीचा तुकडा, किसमिसाच्या ढेपेचा तुकडा आणि खजूर मिश्रित भाकरीचा तुकडा दिला. मग सर्वजण आपापल्या घरी गेले.
20 20 दावीद मग घरातील सर्वांना आशीर्वाद द्यायला घरात आला. तेव्हा शौलकन्या मीखल हिने त्याला गाठले आणि ती म्हणाली, “इस्राएलाच्या राजाने आज आपला मान राखला नाही. नोकरा चाकरांमोर, दासी समोर त्या मूर्खांपैकीच एक असल्याप्रमाणे तुम्ही आपले कपडे काढलेत.“
21 21 तेव्हा दावीद तिला म्हणाला, “तुझे वडील किंवा तुझ्या घराण्यातील दुसरे कोणी या सर्वांना वगळून परमेश्वराने मला निवडले आहे. सर्व इस्राएलांचा मी नेता आहे. तेव्हा मी परमेश्वरापुढे असाच नाचतगात जाणार.
22 22 मी याच्याही पुढची पायरी गाठीन. तुला आदर नसेल कदाचित् पण ज्या दासींचा तू उल्लेख केलास त्यांना माझ्याबद्दल आभिमान वाटतो.”
23 23 शौलाची कन्या मीखल हिला मूलबाळ झाले नाही. ती तशीच विनापत्य वारली.

4 And they brought H5375 it out of the house H4480 H1004 of Abinadab H41 which H834 was at Gibeah, H1390 accompanying H5973 the ark H727 of God: H430 and Ahio H283 went H1980 before H6440 the ark. H727

6 And when they came H935 to H5704 Nachon's H5225 threshingfloor, H1637 Uzzah H5798 put forth H7971 his hand to H413 the ark H727 of God, H430 and took hold H270 of it; for H3588 the oxen H1241 shook H8058 it .
7 And the anger H639 of the LORD H3068 was kindled H2734 against Uzzah; H5798 and God H430 smote H5221 him there H8033 for H5921 his error; H7944 and there H8033 he died H4191 by H5973 the ark H727 of God. H430
8 And David H1732 was displeased, H2734 because H5921 H834 the LORD H3068 had made H6555 a breach H6556 upon Uzzah: H5798 and he called the name H7121 of the H1931 place H4725 Perez- H6560 uzzah to H5704 this H2088 day. H3117
9 And David H1732 was afraid H3372 of H853 the LORD H3068 that H1931 day, H3117 and said, H559 How H349 shall the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 come H935 to H413 me?
10 So David H1732 would H14 not H3808 remove H5493 H853 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 unto H413 him into H5921 the city H5892 of David: H1732 but David H1732 carried it aside H5186 into the house H1004 of Obed- H5654 edom the Gittite. H1663
11 And the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 continued H3427 in the house H1004 of Obed- H5654 edom the Gittite H1663 three H7969 months: H2320 and the LORD H3068 blessed H1288 H853 Obed- H5654 edom , and all H3605 his household. H1004
12 And it was told H5046 king H4428 David, H1732 saying, H559 The LORD H3068 hath blessed H1288 H853 the house H1004 of Obed- H5654 edom , and all H3605 that H834 pertaineth unto him, because H5668 of the ark H727 of God. 16 And as H1961 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 came H935 into the city H5892 of David, H1732 Michal H4324 Saul's H7586 daughter H1323 looked H8259 through H1157 a window, H2474 and saw H7200 H853 king H4428 David H1732 leaping H6339 and dancing H3769 before H6440 the LORD; H3068 and she despised H959 him in her heart. 20 Then David H1732 returned H7725 to bless H1288 H853 his household. H1004 And Michal H4324 the daughter H1323 of Saul H7586 came out H3318 to meet H7125 David, H1732 and said, H559 How H4100 glorious H3513 was the king H4428 of Israel H3478 today, H3117 who H834 uncovered himself H1540 today H3117 in the eyes H5869 of the handmaids H519 of his servants, H5650 as one H259 of the vain fellows H7386 shamelessly uncovereth himself H1540 H1540 !
21 And David H1732 said H559 unto H413 Michal, H4324 It was before H6440 the LORD, H3068 which H834 chose H977 me before thy father H4480 H1 , and before all H4480 H3605 his house, H1004 to appoint H6680 me ruler H5057 over H5921 the people H5971 of the LORD, H3068 over H5921 Israel: H3478 therefore will I play H7832 before H6440 the LORD. H3068
22 And I will yet H5750 be more vile H7043 than thus H4480 H2063 , and will be H1961 base H8217 in mine own sight: H5869 and of H5973 the maidservants H519 which H834 thou hast spoken H559 of , of them shall I be had in honor. H3513
23 Therefore Michal H4324 the daughter H1323 of Saul H7586 had H1961 no H3808 child H3206 unto H5704 the day H3117 of her death. H4194
