1 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਕਾਦਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਅਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਭਵਨ ਅਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਸਫੀਲ ਚੁਫੇਰਿਓਂ ਬਣ ਨਾ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ

2 ਲੋਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਭਵਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਈ ਅਜੇ ਤੀਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ

3 ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ

4 ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋਮ ਬਲੀ ਲਈ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਉੱਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਥਾਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ

5 ਗਿਬਓਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੰਗ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਦੇਵਾਂ?

6 ਤਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਨੇਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਚਿਆਈ, ਧਰਮ ਅਰ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਿਧਿਆਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਨੇਕੀ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ

7 ਹੁਣ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ

8 ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ। ਓਹ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਾ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ

9 ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨ ਦੇਹ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ ਏਸ ਲਈ ਭਈ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਛੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕੌਣ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ?

10 ਤਾਂ ਏਹ ਗੱਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਭਈ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇਏਹ ਚੀਜ਼ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ

11 ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗੇ ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਧਨ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮੰਗੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਬੁੱਧ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ

12 ਵੇਖ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਅੱਗੋ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ

13 ਨਾਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਤੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਨਾਲੇ ਧਨ ਨਾਲੇ ਪਤ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਜੋ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ

14 ਜੇ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਧਾਵਾਂਗਾ।।

15 ਤਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਜਾਗ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਭਈ ਏਹ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਫਨਾ ਹੈ। ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਅੱਗੇ ਖਲੋਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਅਰ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹੂਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਉਤ ਕੀਤੀ।।

16 ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੋ ਤੀਵੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਬੇਸਵਾਂ ਸਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਆ ਖਲੋਤੀਆਂ

17 ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਅਸੀਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਤੀਵੀਆਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ ਅਰ ਮੈਂ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚਾ ਜਣੀ

18 ਤਾਂ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਐਉਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਜਣ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਤਾਂ ਏਹ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਵੀ ਜਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਓਪਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ

19 ਸੋ ਏਸ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਏਹ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੇਟ ਗਈ ਸੀ

20 ਤਾਂ ਏਹ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਿਲਣ ਸੁੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਿੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਟਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਿੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ

21 ਤਾਂ ਸਵੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉੱਠੀ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਮੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜਦ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਏਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਜਣੀ ਸਾਂ

22 ਤਾਂ ਦੂਜੀ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਐਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਆਖਿਆ, ਐਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਮੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਐਉਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ

23 ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇੱਕ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਮੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ

24 ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਓਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਇੱਕ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਆਏ

25 ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਂਹ ਥਾਈ ਚੀਰ ਸੁੱਟੋ। ਅੱਧਾ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਧਾ ਦੂਜੀ ਨੂੰ

26 ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੀ ਕਿਉ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਲਈ ਉੱਠੀ ਸੀ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਏਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੋ। ਦੂਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਏਹ ਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਹੇ ਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਚੀਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ

27 ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਿ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਜੋ ਏਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਏਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਏਹੋ ਹੀ ਹੈ

28 ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਏਸ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਓਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਡਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।।
