1 ਤਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ

2 ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਣਪੁਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੋੜੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ

3 ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ, ਸੋ ਆਓ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਵਾਹੀ ਭਰੋ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਦਾ ਬਲਦ ਲਿਆ ਯਾ ਕਿਸ ਦਾ ਖੋਤਾ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ? ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਯਾ ਕਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ? ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਢੀ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ

4 ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੈਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਨਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ

5 ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ। ਓਹ ਬੋਲੇ, ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ।।

6 ਫੇਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ

7 ਹੁਣ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਜਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਭਲਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਨਿਤਾਰਾਂ

8 ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਓਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਵਸਾਇਆ

9 ਫੇਰ ਜਾਂ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਸੋਰ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਓਹ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੇ

10 ਫੇਰ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲੀਮ ਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ

11 ਫੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੁੱਬਆਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਫਤਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚੁਫੇਰੇ ਸਨ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ ਗਏ

12 ਜਾਂ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਜੋ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਹਾਸ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲੋੜੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ

13 ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ

14 ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਰਹੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ

15 ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਨਾ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।।

16 ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੜੋ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਏਹ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਲ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਵੇਖੋ

17 ਭਲਾ, ਅੱਜ ਕਣਕ ਵੱਢਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ? ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਪੁਕਾਰਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਗੱਜ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਘੱਲੇ ਏਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਜੋ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੰਗਣ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ

18 ਉਪਰੰਤ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੱਜ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਿਆ। ਤਦ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਡਹਿਲ ਗਏ

19 ਤਦ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਈਏ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਏਹ ਬਦੀ ਵਧੀਕ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੰਗਿਆ!।।

20 ਤਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਡਰੋ ਨਹੀਂ! ਏਹ ਸਭ ਬਦੀ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਹੀ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਨਾ ਹਟੋ ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੋ

21 ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਨਾ ਹਟੋ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲਾਭ ਯਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਸਭ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜੋ ਹੈ

22 ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਏਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਿਆ ਹੋਈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਬਣਾਵੇ

23 ਅਤੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਬਣਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਹੈ

24 ਸੋ ਨਿਰਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਐੱਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਕੇਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ

25 ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਦੀ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੂੰਝੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ!।।

13 Now ^H6258 ^W-ADV therefore behold ^H2009 ^IJEC the king ^H4428 ^NMS whom ^H834 ^RPRO ye have chosen ^H977 , and whom ^H834 ^RPRO ye have desired ^H7592 ^VQQ2MP ! and , behold ^H2009 ^IJEC , the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS hath set ^H5414 ^VQQ3MS a king ^H4428 ^NMS over ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you .

14 If ^H518 ^PART ye will fear ^H3372 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , and serve ^H5647 him , and obey ^H8085 his voice ^H6963 , and not ^H3808 ^W-NPAR rebel against ^H4784 the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , then shall both ^H1571 ^CONJ ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS and also ^H1571 ^W-CONJ the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO reigneth ^H4427 over ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you continue ^H1961 following ^H310 ^ADV the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS your God ^H430 :

15 But if ^H518 ^W-PART ye will not ^H3808 ^NADV obey ^H8085 the voice ^H6963 ^B-NMS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , but rebel against ^H4784 the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , then shall the hand ^H3027 ^CFS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3FS against you , as it was against your fathers ^H1 .

16 Now ^H6258 ^ADV therefore ^H1571 ^CONJ stand ^H3320 and see ^H7200 this ^H2088 ^D-PMS great ^H1419 ^D-AMS thing ^H1697 ^D-NMS , which ^H834 ^RPRO the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS will do ^H6213 ^VQPMS before your eyes ^H5869 .

17 Is it not ^H3808 ^D-NPAR wheat ^H2406 harvest ^H7105 today ^H3117 ^D-AMS ? 20 And Samuel ^H8050 said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS unto ^H413 ^PREP the people ^H5971 , Fear ^H3372 not ^H408 ^NPAR : ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS have done ^H6213 all ^H3605 ^NMS this ^H2063 ^D-DFS wickedness ^H7451 ^D-AFS : yet ^H389 ^ADV turn not aside ^H408 ^NPAR from following ^H310 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , but serve ^H5647 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS with all ^H3605 ^NMS your heart ^H3824 ;

21 And turn ye not aside ^H3808 ^W-NPAR : for ^H3588 ^CONJ then should ye go after ^H310 ^PREP vain ^H8414 things , which ^H834 ^RPRO cannot ^H3808 ^W-NPAR profit ^H3276 nor ^H3808 ^W-NPAR deliver ^H5337 ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ they ^H1992 are vain ^H8414 .

22 For ^H3588 ^CONJ the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS will not ^H3808 ^ADV forsake ^H5203 his people ^H5971 for his great ^H1419 ^D-AMS name ^H8034 ^CMS-3MS \'s sake ^H5668 ^B-NMS : because ^H3588 ^CONJ it hath pleased ^H2974 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS to make ^H6213 ^L-VQFC you his people ^H5971 .

23 Moreover ^H1571 ^CONJ as for me ^H595 ^PPRO-1MS , God forbid ^H486 that I should sin ^H2398 against the LORD ^H3068 ^L-EDS in ceasing ^H2308 to pray ^H6419 for ^H1157 you : but I will teach ^H3384 you the good ^H2896 and the right ^H3477 way ^H1870 ^B-NMS :

24 Only ^H389 ^ADV fear ^H3372 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , and serve ^H5647 him in truth ^H571 with all ^H3605 ^B-CMS your heart ^H3824 : for ^H3588 ^CONJ consider ^H7200 how ^H834 ^RPRO great things he hath done ^H1431 for ^H5973 you .

25 But if ^H518 ^W-PART ye shall still do wickedly ^H7489 , ye shall be consumed ^H5595 , both ^H1571 ^CONJ ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS and ^H1571 ^CONJ your king ^H4428 .
