1 Chronicles 16:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 SO THEY brought the ark of God and set it in the midst of the tent which David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
2 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
3 And he distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.
4 He appointed Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord and to celebrate by calling to mind, thanking and praising the Lord, the God of Israel:
5 Asaph was the chief, next to him Zechariah, Jeiel (Jaaziel), Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, and Benaiah, Obed-edom and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals;
6 Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 Then on that day David first entrusted to Asaph and his brethren the singing of thanks to the Lord as their chief task:
8 O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known His doings among the peoples!
9 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wondrous works and devoutly praise them!
10 Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
11 Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!
12 Earnestly remember the marvelous deeds which He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He uttered as in Egypt,
13 O you offspring of Abraham and of Israel His servants, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Be mindful of His covenant forever, the promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,
16 The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His sworn promise to Isaac.
17 He confirmed it as a statute to Jacob, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, Gen. 35:11, 12.
18 Saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the measured portion of your possession and inheritance.
19 When they were but few, even a very few, and only temporary residents and strangers in it,
20 When they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,
21 He allowed no man to do them wrong; yes, He reproved kings for their sakes, Gen. 12:17; 20:3; Exod. 7:15-18.
22 Saying, Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm. Gen. 20:7.
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth; show forth from day to day His salvation.
24 Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all peoples.
25 For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He also is to be reverently feared above all so-called gods.
26 For all the gods of the people are lifeless idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are found in His presence; strength and joy are found in His sanctuary.
28 Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength,
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name. Bring an offering and come before Him; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and in holy array.
30 Tremble and reverently fear before Him, all the earth's peoples; the world also shall be established, so it cannot be moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad and let the earth rejoice; and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigns!
32 Let the sea roar, and all the things that fill it; let the fields rejoice, and all that is in them.
33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out for joy before the Lord, for He comes to judge and govern the earth.
34 O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!
35 And say, Save us, O God of our salvation; gather us together and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name and glory in Your praise.
36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, forever and ever! And all the people said Amen! and praised the Lord.
37 So David left Asaph and his brethren before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister before the ark continually, as each day's work required,
38 And Obed-edom with his sixty-eight kinsmen. Also Obed-edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, were to be gatekeepers.
39 And David left Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place that was at Gibeon
40 To offer burnt offerings to the Lord upon the altar of burnt offering continually, morning and evening, and to do all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen and expressly named to give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
42 With them were Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those who should sound aloud, and instruments for accompanying the songs of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were to be at the gate.
43 Then all the people departed, each man to his house, and David returned home to bless his household.
1 So they brought H935 the ark H727 of God H430 D-NAME-4MS , and set H3322 it in the midst H8432 B-NMS of the tent H168 that H834 RPRO David H1732 had pitched H5186 for it : and they offered H7126 burnt sacrifices H5930 CFP and peace offerings H8002 before H6440 L-CMP God H430 .
2 And when David H1732 had made an end H3615 W-VPY3MS of offering H5927 the burnt offerings H5930 and the peace offerings H8002 , he blessed H1288 W-VNY3MS the people H5971 in the name H8034 B-CMS of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
3 And he dealt H2505 to every one H3605 L-CMS of Israel H3478 , both man H376 NMS and woman H802 NFS , to every one H376 NMS a loaf H3603 CFS of bread H3899 NMS , and a good piece of flesh H829 , and a flagon H809 of wine .
4 And he appointed H5414 W-VQQ3MS certain of H4480 PREP the Levites H3881 to minister H8334 before H6440 L-CMP the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and to record H2142 , and to thank H3034 and praise H1984 the LORD H3068 L-EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 LMS :
5 Asaph H623 the chief H7218 , and next H4932 to him Zechariah H2148 , Jeiel H3273 , and Shemiramoth H8070 , and Jehiel H3171 , and Mattithiah H4993 , and Eliab H446 , and Benaiah H1141 , and Obed H5654 - edom : and Jeiel H3273 with psalteries H3627 and with harps H3658 ; but Asaph H623 made a sound H8085 with cymbals H4700 ;
6 Benaiah H1141 also and Jahaziel H3166 the priests H3548 with trumpets H2689 continually H8548 before H6440 L-CMP the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 NFS of God H430 .
7 Then H227 ADV on that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 B-AMS David H1732 delivered H5414 VQQ3MS first H7218 this psalm to thank H3034 the LORD H3068 L-EDS into the hand H3027 B-CFS of Asaph H623 and his brethren H251 .
8 Give thanks H3034 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , call H7121 upon his name H8034 , make known H3045 his deeds H5949 among the people H5971 .
9 Sing H7891 unto him , sing psalms H2167 unto him , talk H7878 ye of all H3605 B-CMS his wondrous works H6381 .
10 Glory H1984 ye in his holy H6944 name H8034 B-CMS : let the heart H3820 NMS of them rejoice H8055 that seek H1245 the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
11 Seek H1875 the LORD H3068 EDS and his strength H5797 , seek H1245 his face H6440 CMS-3MS continually H8548 .
12 Remember H2142 his marvelous works H6381 that H834 RPRO he hath done H6213 VQQ3MS , his wonders H4159 , and the judgments H4941 of his mouth H6310 ;
13 O ye seed H2233 NMS of Israel H3478 his servant H5650 , ye children H1121 of Jacob H3290 , his chosen ones H972 .
14 He H1931 PPRO-3MS is the LORD H3068 EDS our God H430 ; his judgments H4941 are in all H3605 B-CMS the earth H776 D-GFS .
15 Be ye mindful H2142 always H5769 L-NMS of his covenant H1285 ; the word H1697 VQPMS which he commanded H6680 VPQ3MS to a thousand H505 generations H1755 ;
16 Even of the covenant which H834 RPRO he made H3772 with H854 PREP Abraham H85 , and of his oath H7621 unto Isaac H3327 ;
17 And hath confirmed H5975 the same to Jacob H3290 for a law H2706 , and to Israel H3478 for an everlasting H5769 NMS covenant H1285 NFS ,
18 Saying H559 L-VQFC , Unto thee will I give H5414 VQY1MS the land H776 of Canaan H3667 EMS , the lot H2256 of your inheritance H5159 ;
19 When ye were H1961 but few H4962 CMP , even a few H4592 K-AMS , and strangers H1481 in it .
20 And when they went H1980 from nation H1471 to H413 PREP nation H1471 NMS , and from one kingdom H4467 to H413 PREP another H312 people H5971 NMS ;
21 He suffered H5117 no H3808 NADV man H376 L-NMS to do them wrong H6231 : yea , he reproved H3198 kings H4428 for their sakes H5921 PREP-3MP ,
22 Saying , Touch H5060 not H408 ADV mine anointed H4899 , and do H7489 my prophets H5030 no H408 NPAR harm .
23 Sing H7891 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , all H3605 NMS the earth H776 D-GFS ; show forth H1319 from day H3117 NUM-MS to H413 PREP day H3117 NMS his salvation H3444 .
24 Declare H5608 his glory H3519 among the heathen H1471 ; his marvelous works H6381 among all H3605 B-CMS nations H5971 .
25 For H3588 CONJ great H1419 is the LORD H3068 EDS , and greatly H3966 ADV to be praised H1984 : he H1931 PPRO-3MS also is to be feared H3372 above H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS gods H430 NAME-4MP .
26 For H3588 CONJ all H3605 NMS the gods H430 CDP of the people H5971 are idols H457 : but the LORD H3068 W-EDS made H6213 VQQ3MS the heavens H8064 NMP .
27 Glory H1935 CMS and honor H1926 W-NMS are in his presence H6440 L-CMP-3MS ; strength H5797 NMS and gladness H2304 are in his place H4725 .
28 Give H3051 VQI2MP unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , ye kindreds H4940 CFP of the people H5971 NMP , give H3051 VQI2MP unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS glory H3519 and strength H5797 .
29 Give H3051 VQI2MP unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS the glory H3519 due unto his name H8034 CMS-3MS : bring H5375 an offering H4503 NFS , and come H935 W-VQI2MP before H6440 L-CMP-3MS him : worship H7812 the LORD H3068 L-EDS in the beauty H1927 of holiness H6944 .
30 Fear H2342 before H6440 him , all H3605 NMS the earth H776 D-GFS : the world H8398 NFS also H637 CONJ shall be stable H3559 , that it be not H1077 ADV moved H4131 .
31 Let the heavens H8064 D-NMD be glad H8055 , and let the earth H776 D-GFS rejoice H1523 : and let men say H559 W-VQY3MP among the nations H1471 , The LORD H3068 EDS reigneth H4427 .
32 Let the sea H3220 D-NMS roar H7481 , and the fullness H4393 thereof : let the fields H7704 D-NMS rejoice H5970 , and all H3605 W-CMS that H834 RPRO is therein .
33 Then H227 ADV shall the trees H6086 CMP of the wood H3293 sing out H7442 at the presence H6440 ML-CMP of the LORD H3068 EDS , because H3588 CONJ he cometh H935 to judge H8199 the earth H776 D-GFS .
34 O give thanks H3034 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS ; for H3588 CONJ he is good H2896 AMS ; for H3588 CONJ his mercy H2617 endureth forever H5769 L-NMS .
35 And say H559 ye , Save H3467 us , O God H430 CDP of our salvation H3468 , and gather us together H6908 , and deliver H5337 us from H4480 PREP the heathen H1471 D-NMP , that we may give thanks H3034 to thy holy H6944 name H8034 , and glory H7623 in thy praise H8416 .
36 Blessed H1288 VWQ3MS be the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 forever H5769 and ever H5704 W-PREP . And all H3605 CMS the people H5971 said H559 W-VQY3MP , Amen H543 , and praised H1984 the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
37 So he left H5800 there H8033 ADV before H6440 L-CMP the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 NFS of the LORD H3068 EDS Asaph H623 and his brethren H251 , to minister H8334 before H6440 L-CMP the ark H727 continually H8548 , as every day\'s work required H1697 :
38 And Obed H5654 - edom with their brethren H251 , threescore H8346 and eight H8083 ; Obed H5654 - edom also the son H1121 of Jeduthun H3038 and Hosah H2621 to be porters H7778 :
39 And Zadok H6659 the priest H3548 , and his brethren H251 the priests H3548 , before H6440 L-CMP the tabernacle H4908 of the LORD H3068 EDS in the high place H1116 that H834 RPRO was at Gibeon H1391 ,
40 To offer H5927 burnt offerings H5930 CFP unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 of the burnt offering H5930 continually H8548 morning H1242 and evening H6153 , and to do according to all H3605 that is written H3789 in the law H8451 B-CFS of the LORD H3068 EDS , which H834 RPRO he commanded H6680 VPQ3MS Israel H3478 LMS ;
41 And with H5973 them Heman H1968 and Jeduthun H3038 , and the rest H7605 that were chosen H1305 , who H834 RPRO were expressed H5344 by name H8034 , to give thanks H3034 to the LORD H3068 L-EDS , because H3588 CONJ his mercy H2617 endureth forever H5769 L-NMS ;
42 And with H5973 them Heman H1968 and Jeduthun H3038 with trumpets H2689 and cymbals H4700 for those that should make a sound H8085 , and with musical H7892 instruments H3627 of God H430 D-EDP . And the sons H1121 W-CMP of Jeduthun H3038 were porters H8179 .
43 And all H3605 CMS the people H5971 departed H1980 W-VQY3MP every man H376 NMS to his house H1004 L-CMS-3MS : and David H1732 returned H5437 to bless H1288 his house H1004 CMS-3MS .
