Genesis 9:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 AND GOD pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread and terror of you shall be upon every beast of the land, every bird of the air, all that creeps upon the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are delivered into your hand.
3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green vegetables and plants, I give you everything.
4 But you shall not eat flesh with the life of it, which is its blood.
5 And surely for your lifeblood I will require an accounting; from every beast I will require it; and from man, from every man who spills another's lifeblood I will require a reckoning.
6 Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God He made man.
7 And you, be fruitful and multiply; bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.
8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,
9 Behold, I establish My covenant or pledge with you and with your descendants after you
10 And with every living creature that is with you--whether the birds, the livestock, or the wild beasts of the earth along with you, as many as came out of the ark--every animal of the earth.
11 I will establish My covenant or pledge with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood; neither shall there ever again be a flood to destroy the earth and make it corrupt.
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant (solemn pledge) which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:
13 I set My bow rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a token or sign of a covenant or solemn pledge between Me and the earth.
14 And it shall be that when I bring clouds over the earth and the bow rainbow is seen in the clouds,
15 I will earnestly remember My covenant or solemn pledge which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy and make all flesh corrupt.
16 When the bow rainbow is in the clouds and I look upon it, I will earnestly remember the everlasting covenant or pledge between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17 And God said to Noah, This rainbow is the token or sign of the covenant or solemn pledge which I have established between Me and all flesh upon the earth.
18 The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan born later.
19 These are the three sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was overspread and stocked with inhabitants.
20 And Noah began to cultivate the ground, and he planted a vineyard.
21 And he drank of the wine and became drunk, and he was uncovered and lay naked in his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, glanced at and saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside.
23 So Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon the shoulders of both, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they did not see their father's nakedness.
24 When Noah awoke from his wine, and knew the thing which his youngest son had done to him,
25 He exclaimed, Cursed be Canaan! He shall be the servant of servants to his brethren! Deut. 27:16.
26 He also said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem! And blessed by the Lord my God be Shem! And let Canaan be his servant.
27 May God enlarge Japheth; and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.
28 And Noah lived after the flood 350 years.
29 All the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died.

2 And the fear H4172 W-CMS-2MP of you and the dread H2844 W-CMS-2MP of you shall be H1961 VQY3MS upon H5921 PREP every H3605 NMS beast H2416 CFS of the earth H776 D-GFS , and upon H5921 PREP every H3605 NMS fowl H5775 NMS of the air H8064 D-AMP , upon all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO moveth H7430 VQY3FS upon the earth H127 D-NFS , and upon all H3605 NMS the fishes H1709 CMP of the sea H3220 D-NMS ; into your hand H3027 B-CFS-2MP are they delivered H5414 VNQ3MP .
3 Every H3605 NMS moving thing H7431 CMS that H834 RPRO liveth H2416 AMS shall be H1961 VQY3MS meat H402 L-NFS for you ; even as the green H3418 K-NMS herb H6212 NMS have I given H5414 VQQ1MS you all things H3605 NMS .
4 But H389 ADV flesh H1320 NMS with the life H5315 B-GFS-3MS thereof , which is the blood H1818 CMS-3MS thereof , shall ye not H3808 NADV eat H398 VQY2MP .
5 And surely H389 W-ADV your blood H1818 CMS-2MS of your lives H5315 GFS will I require H1875 VQY1MS ; at the hand H3027 M-GFS of every H3605 NMS beast H2416 AFS will I require H1875 VQY1MS-3MS it , and at the hand H3027 WM-GFS of man H120 D-NMS ; at the hand H3027 M-GFS of every man H376 NMS \'s brother H251 CMS-3MS will I require H1875 VQY1MS the life H5315 GFS of man H120 D-NMS .
6 Whoso sheddeth H8210 VQPMS man H120 D-NMS \'s blood H1818 CMS , by man H120 BD-NMS shall his blood H1818 CMS-3MS be shed H8210 VNY3MS : for H3588 CONJ in the image H6754 B-CMS of God H430 EDP made H6213 VQQ3MS he man H120 D-NMS .
7 And you H859 W-PPRO-2MP , be ye fruitful H6509 VQI2MP , and multiply H7235 W-VQI2MP ; bring forth abundantly H8317 VQI2MP in the earth H776 BD-GFS , and multiply H7235 W-VQI2MP therein .
8 And God H430 EDP spoke H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Noah H5146 EMS , and to H413 PREP his sons H1121 CMP-3MS with H854 PREP-3MS him , saying H559 W-VQY3MS ,
9 And I H589 W-PPRO-1MS , behold H2009 , I establish H6965 VHPMS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS with H854 PART-2MP you , and with H854 W-PART your seed H2233 CMS-2MP after H310 ADV-2MP you ;
10 And with H854 W-PART every H3605 NMS living H2416 D-AFS creature H5315 GFS that H834 RPRO is with H854 PART-2MP you , of the fowl H5775 BD-NMS , of the cattle H929 BD-NFS , and of every H3605 NMS beast H2416 CFS of the earth H776 D-GFS with H854 PART-2MP you ; from all H3605 NMS that go out H3318 VQCMP of the ark H8392 D-NFS , to every H3605 NMS beast H2416 CFS of the earth H776 D-GFS .
11 And I will establish H6965 W-VHQ1MS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS with H854 PART-2MP you ; neither H3808 W-NPAR shall all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS be cut off H3772 VNI3MS any more H5750 ADV by the waters H4325 M-CMP of a flood H3999 D-NMS ; neither H3808 W-NPAR shall there any more H5750 ADV be H1961 VQY3MS a flood H3999 NMS to destroy H7843 L-VPFC the earth H776 D-GFS .
12 And God H430 EDP said H559 W-VQY3MS , This H2063 DPRO is the token H226 CFS of the covenant H1285 D-NFS which H834 RPRO I H589 PPRO-1MS make H5414 VQPMS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and you and every H3605 NMS living H2416 AFS creature H5315 GFS that H834 RPRO is with H854 PART-2MP you , for perpetual H5769 NMS generations H1755 L-CFP :
13 I do set H5414 VQQ1MS my bow H7198 CFS-1MS in the cloud H6051 BD-NMS , and it shall be H1961 W-VQQ3FS for a token H226 L-CMS of a covenant H1285 NFS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and the earth H776 D-GFS .
14 And it shall come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS , when I bring H6049 B-VPFC-1MS a cloud H6051 NMS over H5921 PREP the earth H776 D-GFS , that the bow H7198 D-NFS shall be seen H7200 W-VNQ3FS in the cloud H6051 BD-NMS :
15 And I will remember H2142 W-VQQ1MS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS , which H834 RPRO is between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and you and every H3605 NMS living H2416 AFS creature H5315 GFS of all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS ; and the waters H4325 D-CMS shall no H3808 W-NPAR more H5750 ADV become H1961 VQY3MS a flood H3999 L-NMS to destroy H7843 L-VPFC all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS .
16 And the bow H7198 D-NFS shall be H1961 W-VQQ3FS in the cloud H6051 BD-NMS ; and I will look upon H7200 W-VQQ1MS-3FS it , that I may remember H2142 L-VQFC the everlasting H5769 NMS covenant H1285 NFS between H996 PREP God H430 EDP and every H3605 NMS living H2416 AFS creature H5315 GFS of all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS that H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the earth H776 D-GFS .
17 And God H430 EDP said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Noah H5146 EMS , This H2063 DPRO is the token H226 CFS of the covenant H1285 D-NFS , which H834 RPRO I have established H6965 VHQ1MS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and all H3605 NMS flesh H1320 NMS that H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the earth H776 D-GFS .
18 And the sons H1121 CMP of Noah H5146 EMS , that went forth H3318 D-VQPMP of H4480 PREP the ark H8392 D-NFS , were H1961 W-VQY3MP Shem H8035 NAME-3MS , and Ham H2526 W-EMS , and Japheth H3315 W-EMS : and Ham H2526 W-EMS is the father H1 CMS-1MS of Canaan H3667 EMS .
19 These H428 PMP are the three H7969 NFS sons H1121 of Noah H5146 EMS : and of them H428 WM-PMP was the whole H3605 CMS earth H776 D-GFS overspread H5310 VQQ3FS .
20 And Noah H5146 EMS began H2490 W-VHY3MS to be an husbandman H376 , and he planted H5193 W-VQY3MS a vineyard H3754 NMS :
21 And he drank H8354 W-VQY3MS of H4480 PREP the wine H3196 D-NMS , and was drunken H7937 W-VQY3MS ; and he was uncovered H1540 W-VHY3MS within H8432 B-NMS his tent H168 CMS-3MS .
22 And Ham H2526 NAME-3MS , the father H1 CMS-1MS of Canaan H3667 EMS , saw H7200 W-VIY3MS the nakedness H6172 CFS of his father H1 CMS-3MS , and told H5046 W-VHY3MS his two H8147 L-CMD brethren H251 NMP-3MS without H2351 B-NMS .
23 And Shem H8035 NAME-3MS and Japheth H3315 W-EMS took H3947 W-VQY3MS a garment H8071 D-NFS , and laid H7760 W-VQY3MP it upon H5921 PREP both H8147 ONUM-3MP their shoulders H7926 CMS , and went H1980 W-VQY3MP backward H322 ADV , and covered H3680 W-VQY3MP the nakedness H6172 CFS of their father H1 CMS-3MP ; and their faces H6440 W-CMP-3MP were backward H322 ADV , and they saw H7200 VQQ3MP not H3808 NADV their father H1 CMS-3MP \'s nakedness H6172 W-CFS .
24 And Noah H5146 EMS awoke H3364 W-VQY3MS from his wine H3196 M-CMS-3MS , and knew H3045 W-VQY3MS what H834 RPRO his younger H6996 D-AMS son H1121 CMS-3MS had done H6213 VQQ3MS unto him .
25 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Cursed H779 VWQ3MS be Canaan H3667 EMS ; a servant H5650 CMS of servants H5650 NMP shall he be H1961 VQY3MS unto his brethren H251 L-CMP-3MS .
26 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Blessed H1288 VWQ3MS be the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS God H430 CDP of Shem H8035 NAME-3MS ; and Canaan H3667 EMS shall be H1961 W-VQI3MS his servant H5650 NMS .
27 God H430 EDP shall enlarge H6601 VHI3MS Japheth H3315 L-EMS , and he shall dwell H7931 W-VQY3MS in the tents H168 B-CMP of Shem H8035 NAME-3MS ; and Canaan H3667 EMS shall be H1961 W-VQI3MS his servant H5650 NMS .
28 And Noah H5146 EMS lived H2421 W-VQY3MS after H310 ADV the flood H3999 D-NMS three H7969 BFS hundred H3967 BFP and fifty H2572 W-MMP years H8141 NFS .
29 And all H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of Noah H5146 EMS were H1961 W-VQY3MP nine H8672 BMS hundred H3967 BFP and fifty H2572 W-MMP years H8141 NFS : and he died H4191 W-VQY3MS .
