Job 37:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 INDEED, at His thunderings my heart also trembles and leaps out of its place.
2 Hear, oh, hear the roar of His voice and the sound of rumbling that goes out of His mouth!
3 Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, and His lightning to the ends of the earth.
4 After it His voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, and He restrains not His lightnings against His adversaries when His voice is heard.
5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.
6 For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth; likewise He speaks to the showers and to the downpour of His mighty rains.
7 God seals up (stops, brings to a standstill by severe weather) the hand of every man and now under His seal their hands are forced to inactivity, that all men whom He has made may know His doings (His sovereign power and their subjection to it).
8 Then the beasts go into dens and remain in their lairs.
9 Out of its chamber comes the whirlwind, and cold from the scattering winds.
10 By the breath of God ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen over. Ps. 147:17, 18.
11 He loads the thick cloud with moisture; He scatters the cloud of His lightning.
12 And it is turned round about by His guidance, that they may do whatever He commands them upon the face of the habitable earth.
13 Whether it be for correction or for His earth generally or for His mercy and loving-kindness, He causes it to come. Exod. 9:18, 23; I Sam. 12:18, 19.
14 Hear this, O Job; stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 Do you know how God lays His command upon them and causes the lightning of His storm cloud to shine?
16 Do you know how the clouds are balanced and poised in the heavens, the wonderful works of Him Who is perfect in knowledge?
17 Or why your garments are hot when He quiets the earth in sultry summer with the oppressive south wind?
18 Can you along with Him spread out the sky, which is strong as a molten mirror?
19 Tell us Job with what words of man we may address such a Being; we cannot state our case because we are in the dark in the presence of the unsearchable God.
20 So shall it be told Him that I wish to speak? If a man speaks, shall he be swallowed up?
21 And now men cannot look upon the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them.
22 Golden brightness and splendor come out of the north; if men can scarcely look upon it, how much less upon the terrible splendor and majesty God has upon Himself!
23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find Him out; He is excellent in power; and to justice and plenteous righteousness He does no violence He will disregard no right. I Tim. 6:16.
24 Men therefore reverently fear Him; He regards and respects not any who are wise in heart in their own understanding and conceit. Matt. 10:28.

5 God H410 EDS thundereth H7481 VHI3MS marvelously H6381 VNPFP with his voice H6963 B-CMS-3MS ; great things H1419 AFP doeth H6213 VQPMS he , which we cannot H3808 W-NPAR comprehend H3045 VQY1MP .
6 For H3588 CONJ he saith H559 VQY3MS to the snow H7950 LD-NMS , Be H1933 VQI2MS thou on the earth H776 NFS ; likewise to the small H4306 NMS rain H1653 W-CMS , and to the great H4306 CMP rain H1653 W-CMS of his strength H5797 CMS-3MS .
7 He sealeth up H2856 VQY3MS the hand H3027 B-CFS of every H3605 NMS man H120 NMS ; that all H3605 NMS men H376 CMP may know H3045 L-VQFC his work H4639 CMS-3MS .
8 Then the beasts H2416 AFS go H935 W-VQY3FS into H1119 PREP dens H695 NMS , and remain H7931 VQY3FS in their places H4585 WB-CFP-3FS .
9 Out of H4480 PREP the south H2315 D-NMS cometh H935 VQY2MS the whirlwind H5492 NFS : and cold H7135 NFS out of the north H4215 WM-NMP .
10 By the breath H5397 M-CFS of God H410 EDS frost H7140 NMS is given H5414 VQY3MS : and the breadth H7341 W-CMS of the waters H4325 OMD is straitened H4164 B-NMS .

13 He causeth it to come H4672 VHY3MS-3MS , whether H518 PART for correction H7626 L-NMS , or H518 PART for his land H776 L-CFS-3MS , or H518 PART for mercy H2617 L-NMS .
14 Hearken H238 VHI2MS-3FS unto this H2063 DPRO-3FS , O Job H347 EMS : stand still H5975 VQI2MS , and consider H995 W-VTI2MS the wondrous H6381 VNCFP works of God H410 NMS .
15 Dost thou know H3045 I-VQI2MS when God H433 NAME-4MS disposed H7760 B-VQFC them , and caused the light H216 NMS of his cloud H6051 CMS-3MS to shine H3313 W-VHP3MS ?
16 Dost thou know H3045 I-VQI2MS the balancings H4657 CMP of the clouds H5645 NCS , the wondrous works H4652 CFP of him which is perfect H8549 JMS in knowledge H1843 NMP ?

19 Teach H3045 VHI2MS-1MP us what H4100 IPRO we shall say H559 VQY1MP unto him ; for we cannot H3808 NADV order H6186 VQY1MP our speech by reason H6440 M-CMP of darkness H2822 NMS .
20 Shall it be told H5608 VUY3MS him that H3588 CONJ I speak H1696 VPY1MS ? if H518 PART a man H376 NMS speak H559 VQQ3MS , surely H3588 CONJ he shall be swallowed up H1104 VUY3MS .
21 And now H6258 W-ADV men see H7200 VQQ3MP not H3808 NPAR the bright H925 AMS light H216 NMS which H1931 PPRO-3MS is in the clouds H7834 BD-NMP : but the wind H7307 W-GFS passeth H5674 VQQ3FS , and cleanseth H2891 W-VPY3FS-3MP them .
22 Fair weather H2091 NMS cometh H857 VQY3MS out of the north H6828 M-NFS : with H5921 PREP God H433 NAME-4MS is terrible H3372 VNCMS majesty H1935 NMS .
23 Touching the Almighty H7706 EDS , we cannot H3808 ADV find him out H4672 VQQ1MP-3MS : he is excellent H7689 AMS in power H3581 NMS , and in judgment H4941 W-NMS , and in plenty H7230 W-CMS of justice H6666 NFS : he will not H3808 NADV afflict H6031 VPY3MS .
24 Men H376 do therefore H3651 L-ADV fear H3372 VQQ3MP-3MS him : he respecteth H7200 VQY3MS not H3808 ADV any H3605 NMS that are wise H2450 CMP of heart H3820 NMS .
