Jeremiah 27:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 IN THE beginning of the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2 Thus says the Lord to me: Make for yourself thongs and yoke bars and put them on your neck,
3 And send them to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the Ammonites, to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon by the hand of the messengers who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
4 And command them to say to their masters, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Thus shall you say to your masters:
5 I have made the earth, the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I give it to whomever it seems right and suitable to Me.
6 And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant and instrument, and the beasts of the field also I have given him to serve him.
7 And all nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the God-appointed time of punishment of his own land comes; and then many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.
8 But any nation or kingdom that will not serve this same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says the Lord, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed it by Nebuchadnezzar's hand.
9 So do not listen to your false prophets, your diviners, your dreamers and your dreams, whether your own or others', your soothsayers, your sorcerers, who say to you, You shall not serve the king of Babylon.
10 For they prophesy a lie to you which will cause you to be removed far from your land; and I will drive you out, and you will perish.
11 But any nation that brings its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, that nation will I let remain on its own land, says the Lord, to cultivate it and dwell in it.
12 I spoke also to Zedekiah king of Judah in the same way: Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
13 Why will you and your people die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord has spoken concerning any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14 Do not listen to and believe the words of the false prophets who are saying to you, You shall not serve the king of Babylon, for it is a lie that they prophesy to you.
15 For I have not sent them, says the Lord; but they are prophesying falsely in My name. It will only end when I will drive you out to perish together with the false prophets who prophesy to you.
16 Also I said to the priests and to all these people, Thus says the Lord: Do not listen to the words of your false prophets who are prophesying to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the Lord's house shall now shortly be brought back from Babylon; for they are prophesying a lie to you.
17 Do not listen to them or heed them; serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why should this city be laid waste?
18 But if they are true prophets and if the word of the Lord is really spoken by them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are still left in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.
19 For thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the bronze pillars each twenty-seven feet high, the bronze Sea the laver at which the priests cleansed their hands and feet before ministering at the altar, the bronze bases of the ten lavers in Solomon's temple used for washing animals to be offered as sacrifices, and the remainder of the vessels which are left in this city Jerusalem, I Kings 7:23-37; II Chron. 4:6; Jer. 52:17.
20 Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon Jeconiah also called Coniah and Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem--
21 Yes, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels which still remain in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem:
22 They will be carried to Babylon and there will they be until the day that I visit them with My favor, says the Lord. Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.

2 Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS to H413 PREP-1MS me ; Make H6213 VQI2MS thee bonds H4147 and yokes H4133 , and put H5414 them upon H5921 PREP thy neck H6677 ,
3 And send H7971 them to H413 PREP the king H4428 NMS of Edom H123 , and to H413 PREP the king H4428 NMS of Moab H4124 , and to H413 PREP the king H4428 NMS of the Ammonites H1121 , and to H413 PREP the king H4428 NMS of Tyrus H6865 , and to the king H4428 NMS of Zidon H6721 , by the hand H3027 B-CFS of the messengers H4397 which come H935 to Jerusalem H3389 unto H413 PREP Zedekiah H6667 king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 ;
4 And command H6680 them to say H559 L-VQFC unto H413 PREP their masters H113 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 , the God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 ; Thus H3541 shall ye say H559 VQY2MP unto H413 PREP your masters H113 ;
5 I H595 PPRO-1MS have made H6213 VQQ1MS the earth H776 D-GFS , the man H120 D-NMS and the beast H929 D-NFS that H834 RPRO are upon H5921 PREP the ground H776 D-GFS , by my great H1419 D-AMS power H3581 and by my outstretched H5186 arm H2220 , and have given H5414 it unto whom H834 RPRO it seemed H5869 meet H3474 unto me .
6 And now H6258 W-ADV have I H595 PPRO-1MS given H5414 VQQ1MS all H3605 NMS these H428 D-DPRO-3MP lands H776 into the hand H3027 B-CFS of Nebuchadnezzar H5019 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , my servant H5650 CMS-1MS ; and the beasts H2416 CFS of the field H7704 D-NMS have I given H5414 VQQ1MS him also H1571 W-CONJ to serve H5647 him .
7 And all H3605 NMS nations H1471 D-NMP shall serve H5647 him , and his son H1121 CMS-3MS , and his son H1121 CMS-3MS \'s son H1121 CMS-3MS , until H5704 PREP the very time H6256 NMS of his land H776 come H935 : and then H1571 CONJ many H7227 AMP nations H1471 NMP and great H1419 kings H4428 shall serve H5647 themselves of him H1931 PPRO-3MS .
8 And it shall come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS , that the nation H1471 and kingdom H4467 which H834 RPRO will not H3808 ADV serve H5647 the same Nebuchadnezzar H5019 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , and that H834 RPRO will not H3808 ADV put H5414 VHFA their neck H6677 CMS-3MS under the yoke H5923 of the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS nation H1471 will I punish H6485 , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 EDS , with the sword H2719 , and with the famine H7458 , and with the pestilence H1698 , until H5704 PREP I have consumed H8552 them by his hand H3027 B-CFS-3MS .
9 Therefore hearken H8085 not H408 NPAR ye H859 W-PPRO-2MP to H413 PREP your prophets H5030 , nor to H413 PREP your diviners H7080 , nor to H413 PREP your dreamers H2472 , nor to H413 PREP your enchanters H6049 , nor to H413 PREP your sorcerers H3786 , which H834 RPRO speak H559 unto H413 PREP you , saying H559 L-VQFC , Ye shall not H3808 NADV serve H5647 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 :
10 For H3588 CONJ they H1992 PPRO-3MP prophesy H5012 a lie H8267 NMS unto you , to H4616 L-CONJ remove you far H7368 from M-PREP your land H127 ; and that I should drive you out H5080 , and ye should perish H6 .
11 But the nations H1471 that H834 RPRO bring H935 their neck H6677 CMS-3MS under the yoke H5923 of the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , and serve H5647 him , those will I let remain H5117 still in H5921 PREP their own land H127 , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 EDS ; and they shall till H5647 it , and dwell H3427 therein .
12 I spoke H1696 VPQ1MS also to H413 W-PREP Zedekiah H6667 king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 according to all H3605 these H428 D-DPRO-3MP words H1697 AMP , saying H559 L-VQFC , Bring H935 your necks H6677 under the yoke H5923 of the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , and serve H5647 him and his people H5971 , and live H2421 .
13 Why H4100 L-IPRO will ye die H4191 , thou H859 PPRO-2MS and thy people H5971 , by the sword H2719 , by the famine H7458 , and by the pestilence H1698 , as H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS hath spoken H1696 VPQ3MS against H413 PREP the nation H1471 that H834 RPRO will not H3808 ADV serve H5647 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 ?
14 Therefore hearken H8085 not H408 unto H413 PREP the words H1697 CMP of the prophets H5030 that speak H559 D-VQPMP unto H413 PREP you , saying H559 L-VQFC , Ye shall not H3808 NADV serve H5647 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS : for H3588 CONJ they H1992 PPRO-3MP prophesy H5012 a lie H8267 NMS unto you .
15 For H3588 CONJ I have not H3808 NADV sent H7971 them , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 EDS , yet they H1992 W-PPRO-3MP prophesy H5012 a lie H8267 in my name H8034 ; that H4616 L-CONJ I might drive you out H5080 , and that ye might perish H6 , ye H859 PPRO-2MS , and the prophets H5030 that prophesy H5012 unto you .
16 Also I spoke H1696 VPQ1MS to H413 PREP the priests H3548 and to H413 PREP all H3605 NMS this H2088 D-PMS people H5971 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS ; Hearken H8085 not H408 ADV to H413 PREP the words H1697 CMP of your prophets H5030 that prophesy H5012 unto you , saying H559 L-VQFC , Behold H2009 IJEC , the vessels H3627 of the LORD H3068 EDS \'s house H1004 CMS shall now H6258 ADV shortly H4120 be brought again H7725 from Babylon H894 : for H3588 CONJ they H1992 PPRO-3MP prophesy H5012 a lie H8267 NMS unto you .
17 Hearken H8085 not H408 NPAR unto H413 PREP-3MP them ; serve H5647 the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS , and live H2421 W-VQI2MP : wherefore H4100 L-IPRO should this H2063 D-DFS city H5892 D-GFS be H1961 laid waste H2723 ?
18 But if H518 W-PART they H1992 PPRO-3MP be prophets H5030 , and if H518 W-PART the word H1697 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS be H3426 PART with H854 PREP-3MP them , let them now H4994 IJEC make intercession H6293 to the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS of hosts H6635 , that the vessels H3627 D-NMP which are left H3498 in the house H1004 W-NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and in the house H1004 W-NMS of the king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 , and at Jerusalem H3389 , go H935 not H1115 L-NPAR to Babylon H894 .
19 For H3588 CONJ thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 concerning H413 PREP the pillars H5982 , and concerning H5921 W-PREP the sea H3220 D-NMS , and concerning H5921 W-PREP the bases H4350 , and concerning H5921 W-PREP the residue H3499 of the vessels H3627 D-NMP that remain H3498 in this H2063 city H5892 BD-NFS ,
20 Which H834 RPRO Nebuchadnezzar H5019 king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS took H3947 not H3808 ADV , when he carried away captive H1540 Jeconiah H3204 the son H1121 CMS of Jehoiakim H3079 king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 from Jerusalem H3389 to Babylon H894 , and all H3605 NMS the nobles H2715 of Judah H3063 and Jerusalem H3389 ;
21 Yea H3588 CONJ , thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 , the God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 , concerning H5921 PREP the vessels H3627 D-NMP that remain H3498 in the house H1004 W-NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and in the house H1004 W-NMS of the king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 and of Jerusalem H3389 ;
22 They shall be carried H935 to Babylon H894 , and there H8033 shall they be H1961 until H5704 PREP the day H3117 NMS that I visit H6485 them , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 EDS ; then will I bring them up H5927 , and restore H7725 them to H413 PREP this H2008 place H4725 D-NMS .
