Isaiah 25:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 O LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old and fulfilled in faithfulness and truth.
2 For You have made a city a heap, a fortified city a ruin, a palace of aliens without a city is no more a city; it will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore many a strong people will glorify You, many a city of terrible and ruthless nations will reverently fear You.
4 For You have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the ruthless ones is like a rainstorm against a wall.
5 As the heat in a dry land is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so You will bring down the noise of aliens exultant over their enemies; and as the heat is brought low by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless ones is brought low.
6 And on this Mount Zion shall the Lord of hosts make for all peoples a feast of rich things symbolic of His coronation festival inaugurating the reign of the Lord on earth, in the wake of a background of gloom, judgment, and terror, a feast of wines on the lees--of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 And He will destroy on this mountain the covering of the face that is cast over the heads of all peoples in mourning, and the veil of profound wretchedness that is woven and spread over all nations.
8 He will swallow up death in victory; He will abolish death forever. And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; and the reproach of His people He will take away from off all the earth; for the Lord has spoken it. I Cor. 15:26, 54; II Tim. 1:10.
9 It shall be said in that day, Behold our God upon Whom we have waited and hoped, that He might save us! This is the Lord, we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.
10 For the hand of the Lord shall rest on this Mount Zion, and Moab shall be threshed and trodden down in his place as straw is trodden down in the filthy water of a primitive cesspit.
11 And though Moab stretches forth his hands in the midst of the filthy water as a swimmer stretches out his hands to swim, the Lord will bring down Moab's pride in spite of the skillfulness of his hands and together with the spoils of his hands.
12 And the high fortifications of your walls the Lord will bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

3 Therefore H5921 PREP shall the strong H5794 people H5971 NMS glorify H3513 thee , the city H7151 of the terrible H6184 AMP nations H1471 NMP shall fear H3372 thee .
4 For H3588 CONJ thou hast been H1961 VQQ2MS a strength H4581 to the poor H1800 , a strength H4581 to the needy H34 in his distress H6862 , a refuge H4268 NMS from the storm H2230 M-CMS , a shadow H6738 NMS from the heat H2721 , when H3588 CONJ the blast H7307 NFS of the terrible ones H6184 AMP is as a storm H2230 against the wall H7023 .
5 Thou shalt bring down H3665 the noise H7588 of strangers H2114 , as the heat H2721 in a dry place H6724 ; even the heat H2721 with the shadow H6738 of a cloud H5645 NCS : the branch H2159 of the terrible ones H6184 shall be brought low H6030 VQY3MS .
6 And in this H2088 D-PMS mountain H2022 shall the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 make H6213 W-VQQ3MS unto all H3605 L-CMS people H5971 a feast H4960 of fat things H8081 , a feast H4960 of wines on the lees H8105 , of fat things H8081 full of marrow H4229 , of wines on the lees H8105 well refined H2212 .
7 And he will destroy H1104 in this H2088 D-PMS mountain H2022 the face H6440 CMS of the covering H3875 cast H3874 over H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS people H5971 , and the veil H4541 that is spread H5259 over H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS nations H1471 .
8 He will swallow up H1104 death H4194 D-NMS in victory H5331 L-NMS ; and the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 will wipe away H4229 tears H1832 from off H5921 M-PREP all H3605 NMS faces H6440 NMP ; and the rebuke H2781 of his people H5971 shall he take away H5493 from off H5921 M-PREP all H3605 NMS the earth H776 D-GFS : for H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS hath spoken H1696 it .
9 And it shall be said H559 in that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 B-AMS , Lo H2009 IJEC , this H2088 DPRO is our God H430 ; we have waited H6960 for him , and he will save H3467 us : this H2088 DPRO is the LORD H3068 EDS ; we have waited H6960 for him , we will be glad H1523 and rejoice H8055 in his salvation H3444 .
10 For H3588 CONJ in this H2088 D-PMS mountain H2022 shall the hand H3027 CFS of the LORD H3068 EDS rest H5117 , and Moab H4124 shall be trodden down H1758 under H8478 PREP-3MS him , even as straw H4963 is trodden down H1758 for the dunghill H4087 .
11 And he shall spread forth H6566 his hands H3027 CFD-3MS in the midst H7130 of them , as H834 K-RPRO he that swimmeth H7811 spreadeth forth H6566 his hands to swim H7811 : and he shall bring down H8213 their pride H1346 together with H5973 PREP the spoils H698 of their hands H3027 .
12 And the fortress H4013 of the high fort H4869 of thy walls H2346 shall he bring down H7817 , lay low H8213 , and bring H5060 to the ground H776 LD-NFS , even to H5704 PREP the dust H6083 .
