1 ALSO YOU, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.

2 Thus says the Lord God: Because the enemy has said over you, Aha! and, The ancient heights have become our possession,

3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God: Because, yes, because they made you a desolation, and they snapped after and crushed you from every side so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and you became the talk and evil gossip of the people,

4 Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate wastes and the cities that are forsaken, that have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations that are round about;

5 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Surely in the fire of My hot jealousy have I spoken against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who have given to themselves My land with wholehearted joy and with uttermost contempt, that they might empty it out and possess it for a prey and a spoil.

6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you have suffered the shame and reproach of the nations;

7 Therefore thus says the Lord God: I have lifted up My hand and sworn, Surely the nations that are round about you shall themselves suffer shame and reproach.

8 But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are soon to come home.

9 For behold, I am for you and I will turn to you; and you shall be tilled and sown,

10 And I will multiply men upon you, the whole house of Israel, even all of it; the cities shall be inhabited and the waste places shall be rebuilt,

11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited according to your former estate and I will do better for you than at your beginnings; and you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service.

12 Yes, O mountains of Israel I will cause men to walk upon you, even My people Israel, and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance; and you shall no more after this bereave them of children for idol sacrifices.

13 Thus says the Lord God: Because they say to you, You O land are a devourer of men and have bereaved your nation of children offered to idols,

14 Therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nation or cause it to stumble any more, says the Lord God.

15 Neither will I let you hear any more the reproach of the nations, nor shall you suffer the dishonor of the peoples any more, nor shall you cause your nation to stumble and fall any more through idolatry, says the Lord God.

16 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by doing their own way and by their idolatrous doings. Their conduct before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman during her physical impurity.

18 So I poured out My wrath upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land and for their idols with which they had defiled it.

19 And I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their conduct and their idolatrous deeds I judged and punished them.

20 And when they came to the nations to which they went, they profaned My holy name in that men said of them, These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had to go forth out of His land.

21 But I had regard, concern, and compassion for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they went.

22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations to which you went.

23 And I will vindicate the holiness of My great name and separate it for its holy purpose from all that defiles it--My name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them--and the nations will know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service, when I shall be set apart by you and My holiness vindicated in you before their eyes and yours.

24 For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all countries and bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness; and from all your idols will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.

28 And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be My people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses, and I will call forth the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine on you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field, that you may no more suffer the reproach and disgrace of famine among the nations.

31 Then you shall earnestly remember your own evil ways and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominable deeds.

32 Not for your sake do I do this, says the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own wicked ways, O house of Israel!

33 Thus says the Lord God: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities I will also cause Israel's cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt.

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, that which had lain desolate in the sight of all who passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.

36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus says the Lord God: For this also I will let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do it for them; I will increase their men like a flock.

38 Like the flock of holy things for sacrifice, like the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service.

3 Therefore ^H3651 ^L-ADV prophesy ^H5012 and say ^H559 , Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; Because ^H3282 ^ADV they have made you desolate ^H8074 , and swallowed you up ^H7602 on every side ^H5439 ^M-ADV , that ye might be ^H1961 a possession ^H4181 unto the residue ^H7611 of the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP , and ye are taken up ^H5927 in ^H5921 ^PREP the lips ^H8193 ^CFS of talkers ^H3956 ^NMS , and are an infamy ^H1681 of the people ^H5971 ^NMS :

6 Prophesy ^H5012 therefore ^H3651 ^L-ADV concerning ^H5921 ^PREP the land ^H127 of Israel ^H3478 , and say ^H559 unto the mountains ^H2022 , and to the hills ^H1389 , to the rivers ^H650 , and to the valleys ^H1516 , Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; Behold ^H2009 , I have spoken ^H1696 ^VPQ1MS in my jealousy ^H7068 and in my fury ^H2534 , because ^H3282 ^ADV ye have borne ^H5375 the shame ^H3639 of the heathen ^H1471 ^NMP :

7 Therefore ^H3651 ^L-ADV thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS have lifted up ^H5375 ^VQQ1MS mine hand ^H3027 ^CFS-1MS , Surely ^H518 ^PART the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP that ^H834 ^RPRO are about ^H5439 ^M-ADV you , they ^H1992 ^PPRO-3MP shall bear ^H5375 their shame ^H3639 .

8 But ye ^H859 ^W-PPRO-2MP , O mountains ^H2022 ^CMP of Israel ^H3478 , ye shall shoot forth ^H5414 your branches ^H6057 , and yield ^H5375 your fruit ^H6529 to my people ^H5971 of Israel ^H3478 ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ they are at hand ^H7126 to come ^H935 .

9 For ^H3588 ^CONJ , behold ^H2009 , I am for ^H413 you , and I will turn ^H6437 unto ^H413 you , and ye shall be tilled ^H5647 and sown ^H2232 :

10 And I will multiply ^H7235 men ^H120 ^NMS upon ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you , all ^H3605 ^NMS the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Israel ^H3478 , even all ^H3605 ^NMS of it : and the cities ^H5892 shall be inhabited ^H3427 , and the wastes ^H2723 shall be built ^H1129 :

11 And I will multiply ^H7235 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you man ^H120 ^NMS and beast ^H929 ^W-NFS ; and they shall increase ^H7235 ^W-VQQ3MP and bring fruit ^H6509 ^W-VQQ3MP : and I will settle ^H3427 you after your old estates ^H6927 , and will do better ^H3190 unto you than at your beginnings ^H7221 : and ye shall know ^H3045 that ^H3588 ^CONJ I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS am the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS .

12 Yea , I will cause men ^H120 ^NMS to walk ^H1980 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you , even my people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478 ; and they shall possess ^H3423 thee , and thou shalt be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ2MS their inheritance ^H5159 , and thou shalt no ^H3808 ^W-NPAR more ^H3254 henceforth ^H5750 ^ADV bereave ^H7921 them of men .

13 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; Because ^H3282 ^ADV they say ^H559 unto you , Thou ^H859 land devourest up ^H398 men ^H120 ^NMS , and hast bereaved ^H1961 thy nations ^H1471 ;

14 Therefore ^H3651 ^L-ADV thou shalt devour ^H398 men ^H120 ^NMS no ^H3808 ^NADV more ^H5750 ^ADV , neither ^H3808 ^NADV bereave ^H7921 thy nations ^H1471 any more ^H5750 ^ADV , saith ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 .

15 Neither ^H3808 ^W-NPAR will I cause men to hear ^H8085 in ^H413 thee the shame ^H3639 of the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP any more ^H5750 ^ADV , neither ^H3808 ^W-NPAR shalt thou bear ^H5375 the reproach ^H2781 of the people ^H5971 ^NMP any more ^H5750 ^ADV , neither ^H3808 ^W-NPAR shalt thou cause thy nations ^H1471 to fall ^H3782 any more ^H5750 ^ADV , saith ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 .

16 Moreover the word ^H1697 ^NMS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS came ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS unto ^H413 ^PREP-1MS me , saying ^H559 ^L-VQFC ,

17 Son ^H1121 of man ^H120 ^NMS , when the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Israel ^H3478 dwelt ^H3427 in ^H5921 ^PREP their own land ^H127 , they defiled ^H2930 it by their own way ^H1870 and by their doings ^H5949 : their way ^H1870 ^CMS-3MP was ^H1961 ^VQQ3FS before ^H6440 ^L-CMP-1MS me as the uncleanness ^H2932 of a removed woman ^H5079 .

18 Wherefore I poured ^H8210 my fury ^H2534 upon ^H5921 ^PREP them for ^H5921 ^PREP the blood ^H1818 that ^H834 ^RPRO they had shed ^H8210 upon ^H5921 ^PREP the land ^H776 ^D-GFS , and for their idols ^H1544 wherewith they had polluted ^H2930 it :

19 And I scattered ^H6327 them among the heathen ^H1471 , and they were dispersed ^H2219 through the countries ^H776 : according to their way ^H1870 and according to their doings ^H5949 I judged ^H8199 them .

20 And when they entered ^H935 ^W-VQY3MS unto ^H413 ^PREP the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP , whither ^H834 ^RPRO they went ^H935 ^VQQ3MP , they profaned ^H2490 my holy ^H6944 name ^H8034 ^CMS , when they said ^H559 to them , These ^H428 ^PMP are the people ^H5971 ^NMS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , and are gone forth ^H3318 out of his land ^H776 .

21 But I had pity ^H2550 for ^H5921 ^PREP mine holy ^H6944 name ^H8034 ^CMS , which ^H834 ^RPRO the house ^H1004 ^CMS of Israel ^H3478 had profaned ^H2490 among the heathen ^H1471 , whither ^H834 ^RPRO they went ^H935 ^VQQ3MP .

22 Therefore ^H3651 ^L-ADV say ^H559 unto the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 , Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS do ^H6213 ^VQPMS not ^H3808 ^NADV this for your sakes ^H4616 , O house ^H1004 ^CMS of Israel ^H3478 , but ^H518 ^PART for mine holy ^H6944 name ^H8034 \'s sake , which ^H834 ^RPRO ye have profaned ^H2490 among the heathen ^H1471 , whither ^H834 ^RPRO ye went ^H935 .

23 And I will sanctify ^H6942 my great ^H1419 ^D-AMS name ^H8034 , which was profaned ^H2490 among the heathen ^H1471 , which ^H834 ^RPRO ye have profaned ^H2490 in the midst ^H8432 of them ; and the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP shall know ^H3045 that ^H3588 ^CONJ I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS am the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , saith ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 , when I shall be sanctified ^H6942 in you before their eyes ^H5869 ^L-CMD-3MP .

24 For I will take ^H3947 you from among ^H4480 ^PREP the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP , and gather ^H6908 you out of all ^H3605 ^M-CMS countries ^H776 , and will bring ^H935 you into ^H413 ^PREP your own land ^H127 .

25 Then will I sprinkle ^H2236 clean ^H2889 water ^H4325 ^OMD upon ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you , and ye shall be clean ^H2891 : from all ^H3605 ^M-CMS your filthiness ^H2932 , and from all ^H3605 ^WM-CMS your idols ^H1544 , will I cleanse ^H2891 you .

26 A new ^H2319 heart ^H3820 ^NMS also will I give ^H5414 you , and a new ^H2319 spirit ^H7307 ^W-GFS will I put ^H5414 ^VQY1MS within ^H7130 you : and I will take away ^H5493 the stony ^H68 heart ^H3820 ^NMS out of your flesh ^H1320 , and I will give ^H5414 you a heart ^H3820 ^NMS of flesh ^H1320 ^NMS .

27 And I will put ^H5414 ^VQY1MS my spirit ^H7307 ^CFS-1MS within ^H7130 you , and cause ^H6213 you to walk ^H1980 in ^H854 my statutes ^H2706 , and ye shall keep ^H8104 my judgments ^H4941 , and do ^H6213 them .

28 And ye shall dwell ^H3427 in the land ^H776 ^B-NFS that ^H834 ^RPRO I gave ^H5414 ^VQQ1MS to your fathers ^H1 ; and ye shall be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ2MP my people ^H5971 , and I ^H595 ^W-PPRO-1MS will be ^H1961 ^VQY1MS your God ^H430 ^L-NMP .

29 I will also save ^H3467 you from all ^H3605 ^M-CMS your uncleannesses ^H2932 : and I will call ^H7121 for ^H413 ^PREP the corn ^H1715 , and will increase ^H7235 it , and lay ^H5414 ^VQY1MS no ^H3808 ^W-NPAR famine ^H7458 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you .

30 And I will multiply ^H7235 the fruit ^H6529 ^NMS of the tree ^H6086 ^AMS , and the increase ^H8570 of the field ^H7704 ^D-NMS , that ^L-CONJ ye shall receive ^H3947 no ^H3808 ^NADV more ^H5750 ^ADV reproach ^H2781 of famine ^H7458 ^NMS among the heathen ^H1471 .

31 Then shall ye remember ^H2142 your own evil ^H7451 ways ^H1870 , and your doings ^H4611 that ^H834 ^RPRO were not ^H3808 ^ADV good ^H2896 , and shall loathe yourselves ^H6962 in your own sight ^H6440 for ^H5921 ^PREP your iniquities ^H5771 and for ^H5921 ^PREP your abominations ^H8441 .

32 Not ^H3808 ^NADV for your sakes ^H4616 do ^H6213 ^VQPMS I ^H589 this , saith ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 , be it known ^H3045 unto you : be ashamed ^H954 and confounded ^H3637 for your own ways ^H1870 , O house ^H1004 ^CMS of Israel ^H3478 ^LMS .

33 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; In the day ^H3117 ^B-NMS that I shall have cleansed ^H2891 you from all ^H3605 ^M-CMS your iniquities ^H5771 I will also cause you to dwell ^H3427 in the cities ^H5892 , and the wastes ^H2723 shall be built ^H1129 .

34 And the desolate ^H8074 land ^H776 ^WD-GFS shall be tilled ^H5647 , whereas ^H8478 ^NMS it lay ^H1961 ^VQQ3FS desolate ^H8077 in the sight ^H5869 of all ^H3605 ^NMS that passed by ^H5674 .

35 And they shall say ^H559 ^W-VQQ3MP , This ^H1977 land ^H776 ^D-GFS that was desolate ^H8074 is become ^H1961 ^VQQ3FS like the garden ^H1588 ^K-CMS of Eden ^H5731 ^GFS ; and the waste ^H2720 and desolate ^H8074 and ruined ^H2040 cities ^H5892 are become fenced ^H1219 , and are inhabited ^H3427 .

36 Then the heathen ^H1471 ^D-NMP that ^H834 ^RPRO are left ^H7604 round about ^H5439 you shall know ^H3045 that ^H3588 ^CONJ I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS build ^H1129 the ruined ^H2040 places , and plant ^H5193 that that was desolate ^H8074 : I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS have spoken ^H1696 ^VPQ1MS it , and I will do ^H6213 it .

37 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the Lord ^H136 ^EDS GOD ^H3069 ; I will yet ^H5750 ^ADV for this ^H2063 ^DPRO be inquired of ^H1875 by the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 , to do ^H6213 ^L-VQFC it for them ; I will increase ^H7235 ^VHY1MS them with men ^H120 like a flock ^H6629 .

38 As the holy ^H6944 flock ^H6629 , as the flock ^H6629 of Jerusalem ^H3389 in her solemn feasts ^H4150 ; so ^H3651 ^ADV shall the waste ^H2720 cities ^H5892 be ^H1961 filled ^H4392 with flocks ^H6629 ^NMS of men ^H120 ^NMS : and they shall know ^H3045 that ^H3588 ^CONJ I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS am the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS .
