Jeremiah 39:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 IN THE ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and besieged it. Jer. 52:4-27.
2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, they broke into the city.
3 When Jerusalem was taken all the princes of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim the Rabsaris a chief of the eunuchs, and Nergal-sharezer II, the Rabmag a chief of the magicians, with all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
4 And when Zedekiah king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they fled and went forth out of the city at night by way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls, and the king went out toward the Arabah (the Jordan Valley).
5 But the Chaldean army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. And when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the Syrian land of Hamath, where he pronounced sentence upon him.
6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah at Riblah before his eyes; also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
7 Moreover, he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with shackles to take him to Babylon. Ezek. 12:13.
8 And the Chaldeans burned the king's house and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
9 Then Nebuzaradan the chief executioner and captain of the guard carried away captive to Babylon the rest of the people who remained in the city, along with those who deserted to him, and the remainder of the so-called better class of people who were left.
10 But Nebuzaradan the Babylonian captain of the guard left in the land of Judah some of the poor of the people who had nothing, giving them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11 Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave command concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,
12 Take him and look after him well; do him no harm but deal with him as he may ask of you.
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushasban the Rabsaris a chief of the eunuchs, Nergal-sharezer II, the Rabmag a chief of the magicians, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon
14 Sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard and entrusted him to Gedaliah a prominent man whose father had once saved the prophet's life son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should take him home with him to Mizpah. So Jeremiah was released and dwelt among the people. Jer. 26:24.
15 Now the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah while he was still shut up in the court of the guard, saying,
16 Go and say to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring to pass My words against this city for evil and not for good; and they will be accomplished before you on that day.
17 But I will deliver you Ebed-melech on that day, says the Lord, and you will not be given into the hands of the men of whom you are afraid. Jer. 38:7-13.
18 For I will surely deliver you; and you will not fall by the sword, but your life will be as your only booty and as a reward of battle to you, because you have put your trust in Me, says the Lord.

2 And in the eleventh H6249 year H8141 NFS of Zedekiah H6667 , in the fourth H7243 month H2320 BD-NMS , the ninth H8672 day of the month H2320 LD-NMS , the city H5892 D-GFS was broken up H1234 .
3 And all H3605 NMS the princes H8269 CMP of the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS came in H935 W-VQY3MP , and sat H3427 W-VQY3MP in the middle H8432 gate H8179 , even Nergal H5371 - sharezer , Samgar H5562 - nebo , Sarsechim H8310 , Rabsaris H7249 , Nergal H5371 - sharezer , Rab H7248 - mag , with all H3605 NMS the residue H7611 of the princes H8269 CMP of the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 .
4 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS , that when H834 K-RPRO Zedekiah H6667 the king H4428 NMS of Judah H3063 saw H7200 them , and all H3605 W-CMS the men H376 of war H4421 , then they fled H1272 , and went forth H3318 W-VQY3MP out of H4480 PREP the city H5892 D-GFS by night H3915 GMS , by the way H1870 NMS of the king H4428 NMS \'s garden H1588 NMS , by the gate H8179 between H996 PREP the two walls H2346 : and he went out H3318 W-VQY3MS the way H1870 NMS of the plain H6160 .
5 But the Chaldeans H3778 TMP \' army H2428 pursued H7291 after H310 them , and overtook H5381 Zedekiah H6667 in the plains H6160 of Jericho H3405 : and when they had taken H3947 W-VQY3MP him , they brought him up H5927 to H413 PREP Nebuchadnezzar H5019 king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS to Riblah H7247 in the land H776 B-GFS of Hamath H2574 , where he gave H1696 W-VPY3MS judgment H4941 upon H854 him .
6 Then the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS slew H7819 the sons H1121 of Zedekiah H6667 in Riblah H7247 before his eyes H5869 : also the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 slew H7819 all H3605 NMS the nobles H2715 of Judah H3063 .
7 Moreover he put out H5786 Zedekiah H6677 \'s eyes H5869 CMD , and bound H631 him with chains H5178 , to carry H935 him to Babylon H894 .
8 And the Chaldeans H3778 burned H8313 the king H4428 D-NMS \'s house H1004 CMS , and the houses H1004 CMS of the people H5971 , with fire H784 , and broke down H5422 the walls H2346 of Jerusalem H3389 .
9 Then H227 Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 AMS of the guard H2876 carried away captive H1540 into Babylon H894 the remnant H3499 of the people H5971 that remained H7604 in the city H5892 BD-NFS , and those that fell away H5307 , that H834 RPRO fell H5307 VQQ3MP to H5921 PREP-3MS him , with the rest H3499 of the people H5971 that remained H7604 .
10 But Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 AMS of the guard H2876 left H7604 of the poor H1800 of H4480 W-PREP the people H5971 , which H834 RPRO had nothing H369 NPAR , in the land H776 B-GFS of Judah H3063 , and gave H5414 W-VQQ3MS them vineyards H3754 and fields H3010 at the same H1931 time H3117 B-AMS .
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar H5019 king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 LFS gave charge H6680 W-VPY3MS concerning H5921 PREP Jeremiah H3414 to H3027 B-CFS Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 AMS of the guard H2876 , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
12 Take H3947 him , and look well H5869 to H5921 PREP-3MS him , and do H6213 VQI3FS him no H408 W-NPAR harm H7451 ; but H518 do H6213 VQI2MS unto H5973 PREP-3MS him even H3651 ADV as H834 he shall say H1696 VPY3MS unto H413 PREP-2MS thee .
13 So Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 AMS of the guard H2876 sent H7971 W-VQY3MS , and Nebushasban H5021 , Rabsaris H7249 , and Nergal H5371 - sharezer , Rab H7248 - mag , and all H3605 W-CMS the king H4428 NMS of Babylon H894 \'s princes H7227 AMS ;
14 Even they sent H7971 , and took H3947 W-VQY3MP Jeremiah H3414 out of the court H2691 of the prison H4307 , and committed H5414 W-VQY3MP him unto H413 PREP Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam H296 the son H1121 of Shaphan H8227 , that he should carry H3318 him home H1004 : so he dwelt H3427 W-VQY3MS among H8432 B-NMS the people H5971 D-NMS .
15 Now the word H1697 NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS came H1961 VQQ3MS unto H413 W-PREP Jeremiah H3414 , while he was H1961 shut up H6113 in the court H2691 of the prison H4307 , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
16 Go H1980 VQFA and speak H559 to Ebed H5663 - melech the Ethiopian H3569 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 , the God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 ; Behold H2009 , I will bring H935 my words H1697 CMP-1MS upon H413 PREP this H2063 D-DFS city H5892 D-GFS for evil H7451 , and not H3808 W-NPAR for good H2896 ; and they shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS accomplished in that H1931 day H3117 B-AMS before H6440 L-CMP-2MS thee .
17 But I will deliver H5337 thee in that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 EDS : and thou shalt not H3808 W-NPAR be given H5414 into the hand H3027 B-CFS of the men H376 of whom H834 RPRO thou H859 PPRO-2MS art afraid H3016 .
18 For H3588 CONJ I will surely deliver H4422 thee , and thou shalt not H3808 NADV fall H5307 by the sword H2719 , but thy life H5315 shall be H1961 W-VQQ3FS for a prey H7998 unto thee : because H3588 CONJ thou hast put thy trust H982 in me , saith H5002 the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
