Isaiah 15:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 THE MOURNFUL, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning Moab: Because in a night Ar of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence! Because in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence!
2 They are gone up to Bayith and to Dibon, to the high places to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and over Medeba; on all their heads is baldness, and every beard is cut off as a sign of deep sorrow and humiliation. Jer. 48:37.
3 In their streets they gird themselves with sackcloth; on the tops of their houses and in their broad places everyone wails, weeping abundantly.
4 And Heshbon and Elealeh cities in possession of Moab cry out; their voice is heard even to Jahaz. Therefore the armed soldiers of Moab cry out; Moab's life is grievous and trembles within him.
5 My heart cries out for Moab; his nobles and other fugitives flee to Zoar, to Eglath-shelishiyah like a heifer three years old. For with weeping they go up the ascent of Luhith; for on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of destruction. Jer. 48:5.
6 For the waters of Nimrim are desolations, for the grass is withered away and the new growth fails; there is no green thing.
7 Therefore the abundance of possessions they have acquired and stored away they now carry over the willow brook and to the valley of the Arabians.
8 For the cry of distress has gone round the borders of Moab; the wailing has reached to Eglaim, and the prolonged and mournful cry to Beer-elim.
9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood; yet I the Lord will bring even more on Dimon--a lion upon those of Moab who escape and upon the remnant of the land.

4 And Heshbon H2809 shall cry H2199 , and Elealeh H500 : their voice H6963 CMS-3MP shall be heard H8085 VQY1MP even unto H5704 PREP Jahaz H3096 : therefore H3651 ADV the armed soldiers H2502 of Moab H4124 shall cry out H7321 VHY3MP ; his life H5315 NMS-3MS shall be grievous H3415 unto him .
5 My heart H3820 NMS-1MS shall cry H2199 out for Moab H4124 ; his fugitives H1280 shall flee unto H5704 PREP Zoar H6820 LFS , a heifer H5697 of three years old H7992 : for H3588 CONJ by the mounting up H4608 of Luhith H3872 with weeping H1065 shall they go it up H5927 VQY3MS ; for H3588 CONJ in the way H1870 NMS of Horonaim H2773 they shall raise up H5782 a cry H2201 of destruction H7667 .
6 For H3588 CONJ the waters H4325 of Nimrim H5249 shall be H1961 desolate H4923 : for H3588 CONJ the hay H2682 NMS is withered away H3001 , the grass H1877 NMS faileth H3615 VQQ3MS , there is H1961 no H3808 NADV green thing H3418 NMS .
7 Therefore H5921 PREP the abundance H3502 they have gotten H6213 VQQ3MS , and that which they have laid up H6486 , shall they carry away H5375 to H5921 PREP the brook H5158 NMS of the willows H6155 .
8 For H3588 CONJ the cry H2201 is gone round H5362 about the borders H1366 CMS of Moab H4124 ; the howling H3213 thereof unto H5704 PREP Eglaim H97 , and the howling H3213 thereof unto Beer H879 - elim .
9 For H3588 CONJ the waters H4325 of Dimon H1775 shall be full H4390 VQQ3MP of blood H1818 NMS : for H3588 CONJ I will bring H7896 VQY1MS more H3254 upon H5921 PREP Dimon H1775 , lions H738 NMS upon him that escapeth H6413 of Moab H4124 , and upon the remnant H7611 of the land H127 NFS .
