Romans 10:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 BRETHREN, with all my heart's desire and goodwill for Israel, I long and pray to God that they may be saved.
2 I bear them witness that they have a certain zeal and enthusiasm for God, but it is not enlightened and according to correct and vital knowledge.
3 For being ignorant of the righteousness that God ascribes which makes one acceptable to Him in word, thought, and deed and seeking to establish a righteousness (a means of salvation) of their own, they did not obey or submit themselves to God's righteousness.
4 For Christ is the end of the Law the limit at which it ceases to be, for the Law leads up to Him Who is the fulfillment of its types, and in Him the purpose which it was designed to accomplish is fulfilled. That is, the purpose of the Law is fulfilled in Him as the means of righteousness (right relationship to God) for everyone who trusts in and adheres to and relies on Him.
5 For Moses writes that the man who can practice the righteousness (perfect conformity to God's will) which is based on the Law with all its intricate demands shall live by it. Lev. 18:5.
6 But the righteousness based on faith imputed by God and bringing right relationship with Him says, Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into Heaven? that is, to bring Christ down;
7 Or who will descend into the abyss? that is, to bring Christ up from the dead as if we could be saved by our own efforts. Deut. 30:12, 13.
8 But what does it say? The Word (God's message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, Deut. 30:14.
9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms his salvation.
11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him will ever be put to shame or be disappointed. Ps. 34:22; Isa. 28:16; 49:23; Jer. 17:7.
12 No one for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord over all of us and He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him in faith.
13 For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord invoking Him as Lord will be saved. Joel 2:32.
14 But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance? And how are they to believe in Him adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?
15 And how can men be expected to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things! Isa. 52:7.
16 But they have not all heeded the Gospel; for Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed (had faith in) what he has heard from us? Isa. 53:1.
17 So faith comes by hearing what is told, and what is heard comes by the preaching of the message that came from the lips of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
18 But I ask, Have they not heard? Indeed they have; for the Scripture says Their voice that of nature bearing God's message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the far bounds of the world. Ps. 19:4.
19 Again I ask, Did Israel not understand? Did the Jews have no warning that the Gospel was to go forth to the Gentiles, to all the earth? First, there is Moses who says, I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry. Deut. 32:21.
20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, I have been found by those who did not seek Me; I have shown (revealed) Myself to those who did not consciously ask for Me. Isa. 65:1.
21 But of Israel he says, All day long I have stretched out My hands to a people unyielding and disobedient and self-willed to a faultfinding, contrary, and contradicting people. Isa. 65:2.

2 For G1063 CONJ I bear them record G3140 V-PAI-1S that G3754 CONJ they have G2192 V-PAI-3P a zeal G2205 N-ASM of God G2316 N-GSM , but G235 CONJ not G3756 PRT-N according G2596 PREP to knowledge G1922 N-ASF .
3 For G1063 CONJ they G3588 T-GSM being ignorant G50 V-PAP-NPM of God G2316 N-GSM \'s righteousness G1343 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ going about G2212 V-PAP-NPM to establish G2476 V-AAN their own G2398 A-ASF righteousness G1343 N-ASF , have not G3756 PRT-N submitted themselves G5293 V-2API-3P unto the G3588 T-DSF righteousness G1343 N-DSF of God G2316 N-GSM .
4 For G1063 CONJ Christ G5547 N-NSM is the end G5056 N-NSN of the law G3551 N-GSM for G1519 PREP righteousness G1343 N-ASF to every one G3956 A-DSM that believeth G4100 V-PAP-DSM .
5 For G1063 CONJ Moses G3475 N-NSM describeth G1125 V-PAI-3S the G3588 T-ASF righteousness G1343 N-ASF which G3588 T-ASF is of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GSM law G3551 N-GSM , That G3754 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM man G444 N-NSM which doeth G4160 V-AAP-NSM those things G846 P-APN shall live G2198 V-FDI-3S by G1722 PREP them G846 P-DPN .
6 But G1161 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF righteousness G1343 N-NSF which is of G1537 PREP faith G4102 N-GSF speaketh G3004 V-PAI-3S on this wise G3779 ADV , Say G2036 V-2AAS-2S not G3361 PRT-N in G1722 PREP thine G3588 T-DSF heart G2588 N-DSF , Who G5101 I-NSM shall ascend G305 V-FDI-3S into G1519 PREP heaven G3772 N-ASM ? (that is G5123 , to bring Christ down G2609 V-2AAN from above : )
7 Or G2228 PRT , Who G5101 I-NSM shall descend G2597 V-FDI-3S into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASF deep G12 N-ASF ? (that is G5123 , to bring up Christ again G321 V-2AAN from G1537 PREP the dead G3498 A-GPM . )
8 But G235 CONJ what G5101 I-ASN saith G3004 V-PAI-3S it G3588 T-NSN ? The G3588 T-NSN word G4487 N-NSN is G2076 V-PXI-3S nigh G1451 ADV thee G4675 P-2GS , even in G1722 PREP thy G3588 T-DSN mouth G4750 N-DSN , and G2532 CONJ in G1722 PREP thy G3588 T-DSF heart G2588 N-DSF : that is G5123 , the G3588 T-NSN word G4487 N-NSN of faith G4102 N-GSF , which G3739 R-ASN we preach G2784 V-PAI-1P ;
9 That G3754 CONJ if G1437 COND thou shalt confess G3670 V-AAS-2S with G1722 PREP thy G3588 T-DSN mouth G4750 N-DSN the Lord G2962 N-ASM Jesus G2424 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ shalt believe G4100 V-AAS-2S in G1722 PREP thine G3588 T-DSF heart G2588 N-DSF that G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM hath raised G1453 V-AAI-3S him G846 P-ASM from G1537 PREP the dead G3498 A-GPM , thou shalt be saved G4982 V-FPI-2S .
10 For G1063 CONJ with the heart G2588 N-DSF man believeth G4100 V-PPI-3S unto G1519 PREP righteousness G1343 N-ASF ; and G1161 CONJ with the mouth G4750 N-DSN confession is made G3670 V-PPI-3S unto G1519 PREP salvation G4991 N-ASF .
11 For G1063 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF Scripture G1124 N-NSF saith G3004 V-PAI-3S , Whosoever G3588 T-NSM believeth G4100 V-PAP-NSM on G1909 PREP him G846 P-DSM shall not G3756 PRT-N be ashamed G2617 V-FPI-3S .
12 For G1063 CONJ there is G2076 V-PXI-3S no G3756 PRT-N difference G1293 N-NSF between G5037 PRT the Jew G2453 A-GSM and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM Greek G1672 N-GSM : for G1063 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM same G846 P-NSM Lord G2962 N-NSM over all G3956 A-GPM is rich G4147 V-PAP-NSM unto G1519 PREP all G3956 A-APM that call upon G1941 V-PMP-APM him G846 P-ASM .
13 For G1063 CONJ whosoever G3956 A-NSM shall call upon G1941 V-AMS-3S the G3588 T-ASN name G3686 N-ASN of the Lord G2962 N-GSM shall be saved G4982 V-FPI-3S .
14 How G4459 ADV-I then G3767 CONJ shall they call on G1941 V-FMI-3P him in G1519 PREP whom G3739 R-ASM they have not G3756 PRT-N believed G4100 V-AAI-3P ? and G1161 CONJ how G4459 ADV-I shall they believe G4100 V-FAI-3P in him of whom G3739 R-GSM they have not G3756 PRT-N heard G191 V-AAI-3P ? and G1161 CONJ how G4459 ADV-I shall they hear G191 V-FAI-3P without G5565 ADV a preacher G2784 V-PAP-GSM ?
15 And G1161 CONJ how G4459 ADV-I shall they preach G2784 V-FAI-3P , except G3362 they be sent G649 V-2APS-3P ? as it G2531 ADV is written G1125 V-RPI-3S , How G5613 ADV beautiful G5611 A-NPM are the G3588 T-NPM feet G4228 N-NPM of them that preach the gospel G2097 V-PMP-GPM of peace G1515 N-ASF , and bring glad tidings G2097 V-PMP-GPM of good things G18 A-APN !
16 But G235 CONJ they have not G3756 PRT-N all G3956 A-NPM obeyed G5219 V-AAI-3P the G3588 T-DSN gospel G2098 N-DSN . For G1063 CONJ Isaiah G2268 N-NSM saith G3004 V-PAI-3S , Lord G2962 N-VSM , who G5101 I-NSM hath believed G4100 V-AAI-3S our G3588 T-DSF report G189 N-DSF ?
17 So then G686 PRT faith G4102 N-NSF cometh by G1537 PREP hearing G189 N-GSF , and G1161 CONJ hearing G189 N-NSF by G1223 PREP the word G4487 N-GSN of God G2316 N-GSM .
18 But G235 CONJ I say G3004 V-PAI-1S , Have they not G3378 heard G191 V-AAI-3P ? Yes verily G3304 PRT , their G3588 T-NSM sound G5353 N-NSM went G1831 V-2AAI-3S into G1519 PREP all G3956 A-ASF the G3588 T-ASF earth G1093 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ their G3588 T-NPN words G4487 N-NPN unto G1519 PREP the G3588 T-APN ends G4009 N-APN of G3588 T-GSF the G3588 T-GSF world G3625 N-GSF .
19 But G235 CONJ I say G3004 V-PAI-1S , Did not G3378 Israel G2474 N-PRI know G1097 V-2AAI-3S ? First G4413 A-NSM Moses G3475 N-NSM saith G3004 V-PAI-3S , I G1473 P-1NS will provoke you to jealousy G3863 V-FAI-1S by G1909 PREP them that are no G3756 PRT-N people G1484 N-DSN , and by G1909 PREP a foolish G801 A-DSN nation G1484 N-DSN I will anger G3949 V-FAI-1S you G5209 P-2AP .
20 But G1161 CONJ Isaiah G2268 N-NSM is very bold G662 V-PAI-3S , and G2532 CONJ saith G3004 V-PAI-3S , I was found G2147 V-API-1S of G3588 T-DPM them G3588 T-DPM that G3588 T-DPM sought G2212 V-PAP-DPM me G1691 P-1AS not G3361 PRT-N ; I was made G1096 V-2ADI-1S manifest G1717 A-NSM unto them G3588 T-DPM that G3588 T-DPM asked not after G1905 V-PAP-DPM me G1691 P-1AS .
21 But G1161 CONJ to G4314 PREP Israel G2474 N-PRI he saith G3004 V-PAI-3S , All G3650 A-ASF day G2250 N-ASF long I have stretched forth G1600 V-AAI-1S my G3588 T-APF hands G5495 N-APF unto G4314 PREP a disobedient G544 V-PAP-ASM and G2532 CONJ gainsaying G483 V-PAP-ASM people G2992 N-ASM .
