Exodus 10:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 THE LORD said to Moses, Go to Pharaoh, for I have made his heart hard, and his servants' hearts, that I might show these My signs of divine power before him,
2 And that you may recount in the ears of your son and of your grandson what I have done in derision of the Egyptians and what things I have repeatedly done there--My signs of divine power done among them--that you may recognize and know that I am the Lord.
3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.
4 For if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country.
5 And they shall cover the land so that one cannot see the ground; and they shall eat the remainder of what escaped and is left to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree of yours that grows in the field;
6 The locusts shall fill your houses and those of all your servants and of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen from their birth until this day. Then Moses departed from Pharaoh.
7 And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God; do you not yet understand and know that Egypt is destroyed?
8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve the Lord your God; but just who are to go?
9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds all of us and all we have, for we must hold a feast to the Lord.
10 Pharaoh said to them, Let the Lord be with you, if I ever let you go with your little ones! See, you have some evil purpose in mind.
11 Not so! You that are men, without your families go and serve the Lord, for that is what you want. And Moses and Aaron were driven from Pharaoh's presence.
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt and eat all the vegetation of the land, all that the hail has left.
13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night; when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14 And the locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled down on the whole country of Egypt, a very dreadful mass of them; never before were there such locusts as these, nor will there ever be again.
15 For they covered the whole land, so that the ground was darkened, and they ate every bit of vegetation of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; there remained not a green thing of the trees or the plants of the field in all the land of Egypt.
16 Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron in haste. He said, I have sinned against the Lord your God and you.
17 Now therefore forgive my sin, I pray you, only this once, and entreat the Lord your God only that He may remove from me this plague of death.
18 Then Moses left Pharaoh and entreated the Lord.
19 And the Lord turned a violent west wind, which lifted the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea; not one locust remained in all the country of Egypt.
20 But the Lord made Pharaoh's heart more strong and obstinate, and he would not let the Israelites go.
21 And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand toward the heavens, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness which may be felt.
22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and for three days a thick darkness was all over the land of Egypt.
23 The Egyptians could not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days; but all the Israelites had natural light in their dwellings.
24 And Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, Go, serve the Lord; let your little ones also go with you; it is only your flocks and your herds that must not go.
25 But Moses said, You must give into our hand also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.
26 Our livestock also shall go with us; there shall not a hoof be left behind; for of them must we take to serve the Lord our God, and we know not with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.
27 But the Lord made Pharaoh's heart stronger and more stubborn, and he would not let them go.
28 And Pharaoh said to Moses, Get away from me! See that you never enter my presence again, for the day you see my face again you shall die!
29 And Moses said, You have spoken truly; I will never see your face again.

2 And that H4616 thou mayest tell H5608 in the ears H241 of thy son H1121 , and of thy son H1121 W-CMS \'s son H1121 , what things H834 RPRO I have wrought H5953 in Egypt H4714 , and my signs H226 which H834 RPRO I have done H7760 VQQ1MS among them ; that ye may know H3045 how that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
3 And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 came in H935 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS , and said H559 W-VQY3MP unto H413 PREP-3MS him , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of the Hebrews H5680 , How long H5704 PREP wilt thou refuse H3985 to humble thyself H6031 before H6440 me ? let my people H5971 go H7971 VPFC , that they may serve H5647 me .
4 Else H3588 CONJ , if H518 PART thou H859 PPRO-2MS refuse H3986 to let my people H5971 go H7971 , behold H2009 , tomorrow H4279 NMS will I bring H935 VHPMS the locusts H697 into thy coast H1366 :
5 And they shall cover H3680 the face H5869 CMS of the earth H776 D-GFS , that one cannot H3808 W-NPAR be able H3201 VQY3MS to see H7200 L-VQFC the earth H776 D-GFS : and they shall eat H398 W-VQQ3MS the residue H3499 of that which is escaped H6413 , which remaineth H7604 unto you from H4480 PREP the hail H1259 , and shall eat H398 W-VQQ3MS every H3605 NMS tree H6086 AMS which groweth H6779 for you out of H4480 PREP the field H7704 D-NMS :
6 And they shall fill H4390 thy houses H1004 , and the houses H1004 of all H3605 CMS thy servants H5650 , and the houses H1004 of all H3605 CMS the Egyptians H4714 ; which H834 RPRO neither H3808 ADV thy fathers H1 , nor thy fathers H1 \' fathers H1 have seen H7200 VQQ3MP , since the day H3117 M-NMS that they were H1961 upon H5921 PREP the earth H127 D-NFS unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 M-NMS . And he turned H6437 himself , and went out H3318 W-VQY3MS from M-PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS .
7 And Pharaoh H6547 EMS \'s servants H5650 said H559 W-VQY3MP unto H413 PREP-3MS him , How long H5704 PREP shall this man H2088 DPRO be H1961 VQY3MS a snare H4170 unto us ? let the men H376 D-NMP go H7971 VPFC , that they may serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS their God H430 : knowest H3045 thou not yet H2962 that H3588 CONJ Egypt H4714 is destroyed H6 ?
8 And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 were brought again H7725 unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS : and he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP them , Go H1980 VQI2MP , serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS your God H430 : but who H4310 IPRO are they that shall go H1980 ?
9 And Moses H4872 said H559 W-VQY3MS , We will go H1980 with our young H5288 and with our old H2205 , with our sons H1121 and with our daughters H1323 , with our flocks H6629 and with our herds H1241 will we go H1980 ; for H3588 CONJ we must hold a feast H2282 unto the LORD H3068 EDS .
10 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS them , Let the LORD H3068 EDS be H1961 VPY3MS so H3651 ADV with H5973 PREP-3MP you , as H834 K-RPRO I will let you go H7971 , and your little ones H2945 : look H7200 to it ; for H3588 CONJ evil H7451 AFS is before H5048 you .
11 Not H3808 NADV so H3651 ADV : go H1980 now H4994 IJEC ye that are men H1397 , and serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS ; for H3588 CONJ that ye H859 PPRO-2MS did desire H1245 . And they were driven out H1644 W-VPQ3MS from Pharaoh H6547 \'s presence H6440 CMP .
12 And the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , Stretch out H5186 thine hand H3027 CFS-2MS over H5921 PREP the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 EFS for the locusts H697 , that they may come up H5927 upon H5921 PREP the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 , and eat H398 every H3605 NMS herb H6212 NMS of the land H776 D-GFS , even all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO the hail H1259 hath left H7604 .
13 And Moses H4872 stretched forth W-VQY3MS his rod H4294 over H5921 PREP the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 EFS , and the LORD H3068 W-EMS brought H5090 an east H6921 NMP wind H7307 NFS upon the land H776 B-NFS all H3605 NMS that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 D-AMS , and all H3605 NMS that night H3915 AMS ; and when it was H1961 VQQ3MS morning H1242 , the east H6921 wind H7307 NFS brought H5375 VQQ3MS the locusts H697 .
14 And the locusts H697 went up H5927 W-VHY3MS over H5921 PREP all H3605 NMS the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 EFS , and rested H5117 in all H3605 NMS the coasts H1366 CMS of Egypt H4714 : very H3966 ADV grievous H3515 VQS3MS were they ; before H6440 L-CMP-3MS them there were H1961 VQQ3MS no H3808 NADV such H3651 ADV locusts H697 as they , neither H3808 NADV after H310 W-PREP-3MS them shall be H1961 VQY3MS such H3651 ADV .
15 For they covered H3680 W-VQY3MS the face H5869 CMS of the whole H3605 NMS earth H776 D-GFS , so that the land H776 D-GFS was darkened H2821 ; and they did eat H398 every H3605 NMS herb H6212 NMS of the land H776 D-GFS , and all H3605 NMS the fruit H6529 NMS of the trees H6086 AMS which H834 RPRO the hail H1259 had left H3498 : and there remained H3498 not H3808 W-NPAR any H3605 NMS green thing H3418 NMS in the trees H6086 , or in the herbs H6212 of the field H7704 D-NMS , through all H3605 NMS the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 .
16 Then Pharaoh H6547 EMS called H7121 for Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 in haste H4116 ; and he said H559 W-VQY3MS , I have sinned H2398 VQQ1MS against the LORD H3068 L-EDS your God H430 , and against you .
17 Now H6258 W-ADV therefore forgive H5375 VQI2MS , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , my sin H2403 only H389 ADV this once H6471 D-GFS , and entreat H6279 the LORD H3068 L-EDS your God H430 , that he may take away H5493 from me this H2088 D-PMS death H4194 D-NMS only H7535 ADV .
18 And he went out H3318 W-VQY3MS from M-PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS , and entreated H413 PREP the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
19 And the LORD H3068 EDS turned H2015 a mighty H3966 ADV strong H2389 AMS west H3220 NMS wind H7307 NMS , which took away H5375 W-VQY3MS the locusts H697 , and cast H8628 them into the Red H5488 sea H3220 ; there remained H7604 VNQ3MS not H3808 NADV one H259 MMS locust H697 in all H3605 the coasts H1366 CMS of Egypt H4714 .
20 But the LORD H3068 EDS hardened H2388 Pharaoh H6547 EMS \'s heart H3820 NMS , so that he would not H3808 W-NPAR let the children H1121 of Israel H3478 LMS go H7971 VPQ3MS .
21 And the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , Stretch out H5186 thine hand H3027 CFS-2MS toward H5921 PREP heaven H8064 D-NMD , that there may be H1961 W-VQI3MS darkness H2822 NMS over H5921 PREP the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 , even darkness H2822 NMS which may be felt H4959 .
22 And Moses H4872 stretched forth W-VQY3MS his hand H3027 CFS-3MS toward H5921 PREP heaven H8064 D-AMP ; and there was H1961 W-VQY3MS a thick H653 darkness H2822 NMS in all H3605 B-CMS the land H776 GFS of Egypt H4714 EFS three H7969 BMS days H3117 NMP :
23 They saw H7200 VQQ3MP not H3808 ADV one H376 NMS another H251 CMS-3MS , neither H3808 W-NADV rose H6965 VQQ3MP any H376 NMS from his place H8478 for three H7969 BMS days H3117 NMP : but all H3605 WL-CMS the children H1121 of Israel H3478 had H1961 VQQ3MS light H216 NMS in their dwellings H4186 .
24 And Pharaoh H6547 EMS called H7121 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Go H1980 VQI2MP ye , serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS ; only H7535 ADV let your flocks H6629 and your herds H1241 be stayed H3322 : let your little ones H2945 also H1571 CONJ go H1980 with H5973 you .
25 And Moses H4872 said H559 W-VQY3MS , Thou H859 PPRO-2MS must give H5414 VQY2MS us H3027 also H1571 CONJ sacrifices H2077 and burnt offerings H5930 , that we may sacrifice H6213 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS our God H430 .
26 Our cattle H4735 also H1571 W-CONJ shall go H1980 with H5973 PREP-1MP us ; there shall not H3808 NADV a hoof H6541 be left behind H7604 ; for H3588 CONJ thereof H4480 M-PREP-3MS must we take H3947 to serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS our God H430 ; and we H587 know H3045 not H3808 ADV with what H4100 IGAT we must serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS , until H5704 PREP we come H935 thither H8033 .
27 But the LORD H3068 EDS hardened H2388 Pharaoh H6547 EMS \'s heart H3820 NMS , and he would H14 not H3808 W-NPAR let them go H7971 .
28 And Pharaoh H6547 EMS said H559 unto him , Get H1980 VQI2MS thee from M-PREP-1MS me , take heed H8104 VNI2MS to thyself , see H7200 my face H6440 NMP-1MS no H408 PREP more H3254 ; for H3588 CONJ in that day H3117 B-NMS thou seest H7200 my face H6440 CMP-1MS thou shalt die H4191 VQY2MS .
29 And Moses H4872 said H559 W-VQY3MS , Thou hast spoken H1696 well H3651 ADV , I will see H7200 thy face H6440 CMP-2MS again H3254 VHY1MS no H3808 NADV more H5750 ADV .
