Isaiah 63:1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 WHO IS this Who comes from Edom, with crimson-stained garments from Bozrah in Edom? This One Who is glorious in His apparel, striding triumphantly in the greatness of His might? It is I, the One Who speaks in righteousness proclaiming vindication, mighty to save!
2 Why is Your apparel splashed with red, and Your garments like the one who treads in the winepress?
3 I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the peoples there was no one with Me. I trod them in My anger and trampled them in My wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I stained all My raiment.
4 For the day of vengeance was in My heart, and My year of redemption the year of My redeemed has come.
5 And I looked, but there was no one to help; I was amazed and appalled that there was no one to uphold truth and right. So My own arm brought Me victory, and My wrath upheld Me.
6 I trod down the peoples in My anger and made them drink of the cup of My wrath until they were intoxicated, and I spilled their lifeblood upon the earth.
7 I will recount the loving-kindnesses of the Lord and the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel, which He has granted them according to His mercy and according to the multitude of His loving-kindnesses.
8 For He said, Surely they are My people, sons who will not lie who will not deal falsely with Me; and so He was to them a Savior in all their distresses.
9 In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. Exod. 23:20-23; 33:14-15; Deut. 1:31; 32:10-12.
10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; therefore He turned to become their enemy and Himself fought against them.
11 Then His people seriously remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people and they said, Where is He Who brought our fathers up out of the Red Sea, with Moses and the other shepherds of His flock? Where is He Who put His Holy Spirit within their midst,
12 Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, dividing the waters before them, to make for Himself an everlasting name,
13 Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble?
14 Like the cattle that go down into the valley to find better pasturage, refuge, and rest, the Spirit of the Lord caused them to rest. So did You lead Your people Lord to make for Yourself a beautiful and glorious name to prepare the way for the acknowledgment of Your name by all nations.
15 Look down from heaven and see from the dwelling place of Your holiness and Your glory. Where are Your zeal and Your jealousy and Your mighty acts which you formerly did for Your people? Your yearning pity and the multitude of compassions of Your heart are restrained and withheld from me.
16 For surely You are our Father, even though Abraham our ancestor does not know us and Israel (Jacob) does not acknowledge us; You, O Lord, are still our Father, our Redeemer from everlasting is Your name.
17 O Lord, why have You made us able to err from Your ways and hardened our hearts to reverential fear of You? Return to bless us for Your servants' sake, the tribes of Your heritage.
18 Your holy people possessed Your sanctuary but a little while; our adversaries have trodden it down.
19 We have become to You like those over whom You never exercised rule, like those who were not called by Your name.

2 Wherefore H4069 IPRO art thou red H122 in thine apparel H3830 , and thy garments H899 like him that treadeth H1869 in the wine vat H1660 ?
3 I have trodden H1869 the winepress H6333 alone H905 L-CMS-1MS ; and of the people H5971 there was none H369 ADV with H854 PREP-1MS me : for I will tread H1869 them in mine anger H639 , and trample H7429 them in my fury H2534 ; and their blood H5332 shall be sprinkled H5137 upon H5921 PREP my garments H899 , and I will stain H1351 all H3605 W-CMS my raiment H4403 .
4 For H3588 CONJ the day H3117 NMS of vengeance H5359 is in mine heart H3820 , and the year H8141 of my redeemed H1350 is come H935 .
5 And I looked H5027 , and there was none H369 W-NPAR to help H5826 VQPMS ; and I wondered H8074 that there was none H369 W-NPAR to uphold H5564 : therefore mine own arm H2220 brought salvation H3467 unto me ; and my fury H2534 , it H1931 PPRO-3FS upheld H5564 me .
6 And I will tread down H947 the people H5971 NMP in mine anger H639 , and make them drunk H7937 in my fury H2534 , and I will bring down H3381 their strength H5332 to the earth H776 LD-NFS .
7 I will mention H2142 the lovingkindnesses H2617 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and the praises H8416 of the LORD H3068 EDS , according H5921 to all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS hath bestowed H1580 on us , and the great H7227 W-JMS goodness H2898 toward the house H1004 of Israel H3478 , which H834 RPRO he hath bestowed H1580 on them according to his mercies H7356 , and according to the multitude H7230 of his lovingkindnesses H2617 .

9 In all H3605 NMS their affliction H6869 he was afflicted H6862 NMS , and the angel H4397 of his presence H6440 CMP-3MS saved H3467 them : in his love H160 and in his pity H2551 he H1931 PPRO-3MS redeemed H1350 them ; and he bore H5190 them , and carried H5375 them all H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of old H5769 NMS .
10 But they H1992 rebelled H4784 , and vexed H6087 his Holy H6944 Spirit H7307 NFS : therefore he was turned H2015 to be their enemy H341 L-VQPMS , and he H1931 PPRO-3MS fought H3898 against them .
11 Then he remembered H2142 W-VQY3MS the days H3117 of old H5769 NMS , Moses H4872 , and his people H5971 , saying , Where H346 IGAT is he that brought them up H5927 out of the sea H3220 M-NMS with H854 PREP the shepherd H7462 of his flock H6629 GFS-3MS ? where H346 IGAT is he that put H7760 his Holy H6944 Spirit H7307 NFS within H7130 him ?
12 That led H1980 VHPMS them by the right hand H3225 of Moses H4872 with his glorious H8597 arm H2220 NFS , dividing H1234 the water H4325 OMD before H6440 M-CMP-3MP them , to make H6213 L-VQFC himself an everlasting H5769 NMS name H8034 CMS ?
13 That led H1980 them through the deep H8415 , as a horse H5483 in the wilderness H4057 , that they should not H3808 NADV stumble H3782 ?

15 Look down H5027 VHI2MS from heaven H8064 , and behold H7200 W-VQI2MS from the habitation H2073 of thy holiness H6944 and of thy glory H8597 : where H346 IGAT is thy zeal H7068 and thy strength H1369 , the sounding H1995 of thy bowels H4578 and of thy mercies H7356 toward H413 PREP-1MS me ? are they restrained H662 ?
16 Doubtless H3588 CONJ thou H859 PPRO-2MS art our father H1 , though H3588 CONJ Abraham H85 be ignorant H3808 NADV of us , and Israel H3478 acknowledge H5234 us not H3808 NADV : thou H859 PPRO-2MS , O LORD H3068 EDS , art our father H1 , our redeemer H1350 ; thy name H8034 is from everlasting H5769 .
17 O LORD H3068 EDS , why H4100 L-IPRO hast thou made us to err H8582 from thy ways H1870 , and hardened H7188 our heart H3820 from thy fear H3374 ? Return H7725 VQFC for thy servants\' sake H4616 L-CONJ , the tribes H7626 of thine inheritance H5159 .
18 The people H5971 NMS of thy holiness H6944 have possessed H3423 it but a little while H4705 : our adversaries H6862 have trodden down H947 thy sanctuary H4720 .
19 We are H1961 thine : thou never H3808 ADV didst bear rule H4910 over them ; they were not H3808 ADV called H7121 by H5921 PREP-3MP thy name H8034 .
