Jude 1 (AMP) Amplified Bibles

1 JUDE, A servant of Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and brother of James, writes this letter to those who are called (chosen), dearly loved by God the Father and separated (set apart) and kept for Jesus Christ:
2 May mercy, soul peace, and love be multiplied to you.
3 Beloved, my whole concern was to write to you in regard to our common salvation. But I found it necessary and was impelled to write you and urgently appeal to and exhort you to contend for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints the faith which is that sum of Christian belief which was delivered verbally to the holy people of God.
4 For certain men have crept in stealthily gaining entrance secretly by a side door. Their doom was predicted long ago, ungodly (impious, profane) persons who pervert the grace (the spiritual blessing and favor) of our God into lawlessness and wantonness and immorality, and disown and deny our sole Master and Lord, Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
5 Now I want to remind you, though you were fully informed once for all, that though the Lord at one time delivered a people out of the land of Egypt, He subsequently destroyed those of them who did not believe who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him.
6 And angels who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place--these He has reserved in custody in eternal chains (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness until the judgment and doom of the great day.
7 The wicked are sentenced to suffer just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the adjacent towns--which likewise gave themselves over to impurity and indulged in unnatural vice and sensual perversity--are laid out in plain sight as an exhibit of perpetual punishment to warn of everlasting fire. Gen. 19.
8 Nevertheless in like manner, these dreamers also corrupt the body, scorn and reject authority and government, and revile and libel and scoff at heavenly glories (the glorious ones).
9 But when even the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not presume to bring an abusive condemnation against him, but simply said, The Lord rebuke you! Zech. 3:2.
10 But these men revile (scoff and sneer at) anything they do not happen to be acquainted with and do not understand; and whatever they do understand physically that which they know by mere instinct, like irrational beasts--by these they corrupt themselves and are destroyed (perish).
11 Woe to them! For they have run riotously in the way of Cain, and have abandoned themselves for the sake of gain it offers them, following the error of Balaam, and have perished in rebellion like that of Korah! Gen. 4:3-8; Num. 16; 22-24.
12 These are hidden reefs (elements of danger) in your love feasts, where they boldly feast sumptuously carousing together in your midst, without scruples providing for themselves alone. They are clouds without water, swept along by the winds; trees, without fruit at the late autumn gathering time--twice (doubly) dead, lifeless and plucked up by the roots;
13 Wild waves of the sea, flinging up the foam of their own shame and disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of eternal darkness has been reserved forever.
14 It was of these people, moreover, that Enoch in the seventh generation from Adam prophesied when he said, Behold, the Lord comes with His myriads of holy ones (ten thousands of His saints)
15 To execute judgment upon all and to convict all the impious (unholy ones) of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the severe (abusive, jarring) things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.
16 These are inveterate murmurers (grumblers) who complain of their lot in life, going after their own desires controlled by their passions; their talk is boastful and arrogant, and they claim to admire men's persons and pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage.
17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions which were made by the apostles (the special messengers) of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
18 They told you beforehand, In the last days (in the end time) there will be scoffers who seek to gratify their own unholy desires, following after their own ungodly passions.
19 It is these who are agitators setting up distinctions and causing divisions--merely sensual creatures, carnal, worldly-minded people, devoid of the Holy Spirit and destitute of any higher spiritual life.
20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up founded on your most holy faith make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher, praying in the Holy Spirit;
21 Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)--which will bring you unto life eternal.
22 And refute so as to convict some who dispute with you, and on some have mercy who waver and doubt.
23 Strive to save others, snatching them out of the fire; on others take pity but with fear, loathing even the garment spotted by the flesh and polluted by their sensuality. Zech. 3:2-4.
24 Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present you unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation with unspeakable, ecstatic delight--
25 To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).

3 Beloved G27 A-VPM , when I gave G4160 V-PMP-NSM all G3956 A-ASF diligence G4710 N-ASF to write G1125 V-PAN unto you G5213 P-2DP of G4012 PREP the G3588 T-GSF common G2839 A-GSF salvation G4991 N-GSF , it was needful G318 N-ASF for me to write G1125 V-AAN unto you G5213 P-2DP , and exhort G3870 V-PAP-NSM you that ye should earnestly contend for G1864 V-PNN the G3588 T-DSF faith G4102 N-DSF which was once G530 ADV delivered G3860 V-APP-DSF unto the G3588 T-DPM saints G40 A-DPM .
4 For G1063 CONJ there are certain G5100 X-NPM men G444 N-NPM crept in unawares G3921 V-AAI-3P , who were before of old ordained G4270 V-RPP-NPM to G1519 PREP this G3588 T-ASN condemnation G2917 N-ASN , ungodly men G765 A-NPM , turning G3346 V-PAP-NPM the G3588 T-NPM grace G5485 N-ASF of G3588 T-GSM our G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM into G1519 PREP lasciviousness G766 N-ASF , and G2532 CONJ denying G720 V-PNP-NPM the G3588 T-ASM only G3441 A-ASM Lord G1203 N-ASM God G2316 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ our G2257 P-1GP Lord G2962 N-ASM Jesus G2424 N-ASM Christ G5547 N-ASM .
5 I G1161 CONJ will G1014 V-PNI-1S therefore put you in remembrance G5279 V-AAN , though ye G5209 P-2AP once G530 ADV knew G1492 V-RAP-APM this G5124 D-ASN , how that G3754 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM Lord G2962 N-NSM , having saved G4982 V-AAP-NSM the people G2992 N-ASM out of G1537 PREP the land G1093 N-GSF of G3588 T-NSN Egypt G125 N-GSF , afterward G1208 A-NSN destroyed G622 V-AAI-3S them G3588 T-APM that G3588 T-APM believed G4100 V-AAP-APM not G3361 PRT-N .

7 Even as G5613 ADV Sodom G4670 N-NPN and G2532 CONJ Gomorrah G1116 N-NSF , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NPF cities G4172 N-NPF about G4012 PREP them G3588 T-ASM in like manner G3664 A-ASM , giving themselves over to fornication G1608 V-AAP-NPF , and G2532 CONJ going G565 V-2AAP-NPF after G3694 ADV strange G2087 A-GSF flesh G4561 N-GSF , are set forth G4295 V-PNI-3P for an example G1164 N-ASN , suffering G5254 V-PAP-NPF the vengeance G1349 N-ASF of eternal G166 A-GSN fire G4442 N-GSN .
8 Likewise G3668 ADV also G2532 CONJ these G3778 D-NPM filthy dreamers G1797 V-PNP-NPM defile G3392 V-PAI-3P the flesh G4561 N-ASF , despise G114 V-PAI-3P dominion G2963 N-ASF , and G1161 CONJ speak evil of G987 V-PAI-3P dignities G1391 N-APF .
9 Yet G1161 CONJ Michael G3413 N-PRI the G3588 T-NSM archangel G743 N-NSM , when G3753 ADV contending G1252 V-PMP-NSM with the G3588 T-DSM devil G1228 A-DSM he disputed G1256 V-INI-3S about G4012 PREP the G3588 T-DSM body G4983 N-GSN of Moses G3475 N-GSM , durst G5111 V-AAI-3S not G3756 PRT-N bring against G2018 V-2AAN him a railing G988 N-GSF accusation G2920 N-ASF , but G235 CONJ said G2036 V-2AAI-3S , The Lord G2962 N-NSM rebuke G2008 V-AAO-3S thee G4671 P-2DS .
10 But G1161 CONJ these G3778 D-NPM speak evil of G987 V-PAI-3P those things G3745 K-APN which they G3303 PRT know G1492 V-RAI-3P not G3756 PRT-N : but G1161 CONJ what G3745 K-APN they know G1987 V-PNI-3P naturally G5447 ADV , as G5613 ADV brute G249 A-NPN beasts G2226 N-NPN , in G1722 PREP those things G5125 D-DPN they corrupt themselves G5351 V-PPI-3P .
11 Woe G3759 INJ unto them G846 P-DPM ! for G3754 CONJ they have gone G4198 V-AOI-3P in the G3588 T-DSF way G3598 N-DSF of Cain G2535 N-PRI , and G2532 CONJ ran greedily after G1632 V-API-3P the G3588 T-DSF error G4106 N-DSF of Balaam G903 N-PRI for reward G3408 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ perished G622 V-2AMI-3P in the G3588 T-DSF gainsaying G485 N-DSF of Korah G2879 N-PRI .
12 These G3778 D-NPM are G1526 V-PXI-3P spots G4694 N-NPF in G1722 PREP your G3588 T-DPF feasts of charity G26 N-DPF , when they feast with G4910 V-PNP-NPM you G5213 , feeding G4165 V-PAP-NPM themselves G1438 F-3APM without fear G870 ADV : clouds G3507 N-NPF they are without water G504 A-NPF , carried about G4064 of G5259 PREP winds G417 N-GPM ; trees G1186 N-NPN whose fruit withereth G5352 A-NPN , without fruit G175 A-NPN , twice G1364 ADV dead G599 V-2AAP-NPN , plucked up by the roots G1610 V-APP-NPN ;
13 Raging G66 A-NPN waves G2949 N-NPN of the sea G2281 N-GSF , foaming out G1890 V-PAP-NPN their own G1438 F-3GPM shame G152 N-APF ; wandering G4107 N-NPM stars G792 N-NPM , to whom G3739 R-DPM is reserved G5083 V-RPI-3S the G3588 T-NSM blackness G2217 N-NSM of darkness G4655 N-GSN forever G1519 PREP .
14 And G1161 CONJ Enoch G1802 N-PRI also G2532 CONJ , the seventh G1442 A-NSM from G575 PREP Adam G76 N-PRI , prophesied G4395 V-AAI-3S of these G5125 D-DPM , saying G3004 V-PAP-NSM , Behold G2400 V-2AAM-2S , the Lord G2962 N-NSM cometh G2064 V-2AAI-3S with G1722 PREP ten thousands G3461 N-DPM of his G848 saints G40 A-DPF ,

16 These G3778 D-NPM are G1526 V-PXI-3P murmurers G1113 N-NPM , complainers G3202 A-NPM , walking G4198 V-PNP-NPM after G2596 PREP their G3588 T-APF own G848 lusts G1939 N-APF ; and G2532 CONJ their G3588 T-NSN mouth G4750 N-NSN speaketh G2980 V-PAI-3S great swelling G5246 A-APN words , having men\'s persons in admiration G2296 V-PAP-NPM because of G5484 ADV advantage G5622 N-GSF .
17 But G1161 CONJ , beloved G27 A-VPM , remember G3415 V-APM-2P ye G5210 P-2NP the G3588 T-GPN words G3588 T-GPN which were spoken before G4280 V-RPP-GPN of G5259 PREP the G3588 T-GPM apostles G652 N-GPM of G3588 T-GSM our G3588 T-GSM Lord G2962 N-GSM Jesus G2424 N-GSM Christ G5547 N-GSM ;
18 How that G3754 CONJ they told G3004 V-IAI-3P you G5213 P-2DP there should G3754 CONJ be G2071 V-FXI-3P mockers G1703 N-NPM in G1722 PREP the last G2078 A-DSM time G5550 N-DSM , who should walk G4198 V-PNP-NPM after G2596 PREP their G3588 T-GPF own G1438 F-3GPM ungodly G763 N-GPF lusts G1939 N-APF .
19 These G3778 D-NPM be G1526 V-PXI-3P they who separate G592 V-PAP-NPM themselves G1438 , sensual G5591 A-NPM , having G2192 V-PAP-NPM not G3361 PRT-N the Spirit G4151 N-ASN .
20 But G1161 CONJ ye G5210 P-2NP , beloved G27 A-VPM , building up G2026 V-PAP-NPM yourselves G1438 F-3APM on your G3588 T-DSF most holy G40 A-DSF-S faith G4102 N-DSF , praying G4336 V-PNP-NPM in G1722 PREP the Holy G40 A-DSN Ghost G4151 N-DSN ,

22 And G2532 CONJ of some G3739 R-APM have compassion G1653 V-PAM-2P , making a difference G1252 V-PMP-NPM :
23 And G1161 CONJ others G3739 R-APM save G4982 V-PAM-2P with G1722 PREP fear G5401 N-DSM , pulling G726 V-PAP-NPM them out of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-ASM fire G4442 N-GSN ; hating G3404 V-PAP-NPM even G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-GSF garment G5509 N-ASM spotted G4696 by G575 PREP the G3588 T-GSF flesh G4561 N-GSF .
24 Now G1161 CONJ unto him that is able G1410 V-PNP-DSM to keep G5442 V-AAN you G5209 from falling G679 A-APM , and G2532 CONJ to present G2476 V-AAN you faultless G299 A-APM before the presence G2714 PREP of G3588 T-GSF his G3588 T-GSF glory G1391 N-GSF with G1722 PREP exceeding joy G20 N-DSF ,
