1 जब सुलैमान ने प्रार्थना पूरी की तो आकाश से आग उतरी और उसने होमबलि और बलियों को जलाया। यहोवा के तेज ने मन्दिर को भर दिया।

2 याचक यहोवा के मन्दिर में नहीं जा सकते थे क्योंकि यहोवा के तेज ने उसे भर दिया था।

3 इस्राएल के सभी लोगों ने आकाश से आग को उतरते देखा। इस्राएल के लोगों ने मन्दिर पर भी यहोवा के तेज को देखा। उन्होंने अपने चेहरे को चबूतरे की फर्श तक झुकाया। उन्होंने यहोवा की उपासना की तथा उसे धन्यवाद दिया। उन्होंने गाया, “यहोवा भला है, और उसकी दया सदा रहती है।”

4 तब राजा सुलैमान और इस्राएल के सभी लोगों ने बलि यहोवा के सामने चढ़ाई।

5 राजा सुलैमान ने बाईस हज़ार बैल और एक लाख बीस हज़ार भेड़े भेंट कीं। राजा और सभी लोगों ने परमेश्वर के मन्दिर को पवित्र बनाया। इसका उपयोग केवल परमेश्वर की उपासना के लिये होता था।

6 याचक अपना कार्य करने के लिये तैयार खड़े थे। लेवीवंशी भी यहोवा के संगीत के उपकरणों के साथ खड़े थे। ये उपकरण राजा दाऊद द्वारा यहोवा को धन्यवाद देने के लिये बनाए गए थे। याचक और लेवीवंशी कह रहे थे, “यहोवा का प्रेम सदैव रहता है!” जब लेवीवंशियों के दूसरी ओर याजक खड़े हुए तो याचकों ने अपनी तुरहियाँ बजाई और इस्राएल के सभी लोग खड़े थे।

7 सुलैमान ने यहोवा के मन्दिर के सामने वाले आँगन के मध्य भाग को भी पवित्र किया। यह वही स्थान है जहाँ सुलैमान ने होमबलि और मेलबलि की चर्बी चढ़ाई। सुलैमान ने आँगन का मध्य भाग काम में लिया क्योंकि काँसे की वेदी पर जिसे सुलैमान ने बनाई थी, सारी होमबलि, अन्नबलि और चर्बी नहीं आ सकती थी वैसी भेंटें बहुत अधिक थीं।

8 सुलैमान और इस्राएल के सभी लोगों ने सात दिनों तक दावतों का उत्सव मनाया। सुलैमान के साथ लोगों का एक बहुत बड़ा समूह था। वे लोग उत्तर दिशा के हमथ नगर के प्रवेश द्वार तथा दक्षिण के मिस्र के झरने जैसे सुदूर क्षेत्रों से आये थे।

9 आठवें दिन उन्होंने एक धर्मसभा की क्योंकि वे सात दिन उत्सव मना चुके थे। उन्होंने वेदी को पवित्र किया और इसका उपयोग केवल यहोवा की उपासना के लिये होना था और उन्होंने सात दिन दावत का उत्सव मनाया।

10 सातवें महीने के तेईसवें दिन सुलैमान ने लोगों को वापस उनके घर भेज दिया। लोग बड़े प्रसन्न थे और उनका हृदय आनन्द से भरा था क्योंकि यहोवा दाऊद, सुलैमान और अपने इस्राएल के लोगों के प्रति बहुत भला था।

11 सुलैमान ने यहोवा का मन्दिर और राजमहल को पूरा कर लिया। सुलैमान ने यहोवा के मन्दिर और अपने आवास में जो कुछ करने की योजना बनाई थी उसमें उसे सफलता मिली।

12 तब यहोवा सुलैमान के पास रात को आया। यहोवा ने उससे कहा, “सकुलैमान, मैंने तुम्हारी प्रार्थना सुनी है और मैंने इस स्थान को अपने लिये बलि के गृह के रूप में चुना है।

13 जब मैं आकाश को बन्द करता हूँ तो वर्षा नहीं होती या मैं टिड्डियों को आदेश देता हूँ कि वे देश को नष्ट करें या अपने लोगों में बीमारी भेजता हूँ,

14 और मेरे नाम से पुकारे जाने वाले लोग यदि विनम्र होते तथा प्रार्थना करते हैं, और मुझे ढूढ़तें हैं और अपने बुरे रास्तों से दूर हट जाते हैं तो मैं स्वर्ग से उनकी सुनूँगा और मैं उनके पाप को क्षमा करूँगा और उनके देश को अच्छा कर दूँगा।

15 अब, मेरी आखें खुली हैं और मेरे कान इस स्थान पर की गई प्रार्थनाओं पर ध्यान देंगे।

16 मैंने इस मन्दिर को चुना है और मैंने इसे पवित्र किया है जिससे मेरा नाम यहाँ सदैव रहे। हाँ, मेरी आँखें और मेरा हृदय इस मन्दिर में सदा रहेगा।

17 “अब सुलैमान, यदि तुम मेरे सामने वैसे ही रहोगे जैसे तुम्हारा पिता दाऊद रहा, यदि तुम उन सभी का पालन करोगे जिनके लिये मैंने आदेश दिया है और यदि तुम मेरे विधियों और नियमों का पालन करोगे।

18 तब मैं तुम्हें शक्तिशाली राजा बनाऊँगा और तुम्हारा राज्य विस्तृत होगा। यही वाचा है जो मैंने तुम्हारे पिता दाऊद से की है। मैंने उससे कहा था, ‘दाऊद, तुम अपने परिवार में एक ऐसा व्यक्ति सदा पाओगे जो इस्राएल में राजा होगा।’

19 “किन्तु यदि तुम मेरे नियमों और आदेशों को नहीं मानोगे जिन्हें मैंने दिया है और तुम अन्य देवताओं की पूजा और सेवा करोगे,

20 तब मैं इस्राएल के लोगों को अपने उस देश से बाहर करूँगा जिसे मैंने उन्हें दिया है। मैं इस मन्दिर को अपनी आँखों से दूर कर दूँगा। जिसे मैंने अपने नाम के लिये पवित्र बनाया है। मैं इस मन्दिर को ऐसा कुछ बनाऊँगा कि सभी राष्ट्र इसकी बुराई करेंगे।

21 हर एक व्यक्ति जो इस प्रतिष्ठित मन्दिर के पास से गुजरेगा, आश्चर्य करेगा। वे कहेंगे, ‘यहोवा ने ऐसा भयंकर काम इस देश और इस मन्दिर के साथ क्यों किया’

22 तब लोग उत्तर देंगे, ‘क्योंकि इस्राएल के लोगों ने यहोवा’ परमेश्वर जिसकी आज्ञा का पालन उनके पूर्वज करते थे, उसकी आज्ञा पालन करने से इन्कार कर दिया। वह ही परमेश्वर है जो उन्हें मिस्र देश के बाहर ले आया। किन्तु इस्राएल के लोगों ने अन्य देवताओं को अपनाया। उन्होंने मूर्ति रूप में देवताओं की पूजा और सेवा की। यही कारण है कि यहोवा ने इस्राएल के लोगों पर इतना सब भयंकर घटित कराया है।”

7 Moreover Solomon ^H8010 ^MMS hallowed ^H6942 ^W-VPY3MS the middle ^H8432 of the court ^H2691 that ^H834 ^RPRO was before ^H6440 ^L-CMP the house ^H1004 ^CMS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS : for ^H3588 ^CONJ there ^H8033 ^ADV he offered ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS burnt offerings ^H5930 , and the fat ^H2459 of the peace offerings ^H8002 , because ^H3588 ^CONJ the brazen ^H5178 altar ^H4196 which ^H834 ^RPRO Solomon ^H8010 ^MMS had made ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS was not able ^H3201 to receive ^H3557 the burnt offerings ^H5930 , and the meat offerings ^H4503 , and the fat ^H2459 .

8 Also at the same ^H1931 time ^H6256 Solomon ^H8010 ^MMS kept ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the feast ^H2282 seven ^H7651 ^RMS days ^H3117 ^NMP , and all ^H3605 ^W-CMS Israel ^H3478 with ^H5973 ^PREP-3MS him , a very ^H3966 ^ADV great ^H1419 ^AMS congregation ^H6951 , from the entering in of Hamath ^H2574 unto ^H5704 ^PREP the river ^H5158 ^NMS of Egypt ^H4714 .

12 And the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS appeared ^H7200 ^W-VNY3MS to ^H413 ^PREP Solomon ^H8010 ^MMS by night ^H3915 , and said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS unto him , I have heard ^H8085 ^VQQ1MS thy prayer ^H8605 , and have chosen ^H977 this ^H2088 ^D-PMS place ^H4725 to myself for a house ^H1004 of sacrifice ^H2077 .

13 If ^H2005 ^IJEC I shut up ^H6113 heaven ^H8064 ^D-NMD that there be ^H1961 ^VQY3MS no ^H3808 ^W-NPAR rain ^H4306 ^NMS , or if ^H2005 I command ^H6680 the locusts ^H2284 to devour ^H398 the land ^H776 ^D-GFS , or if ^H518 ^W-PART I send ^H7971 pestilence ^H1698 among my people ^H5971 ;

14 If my people ^H5971 , which ^H834 ^RPRO are called ^H7121 by my name ^H8034 , shall humble themselves ^H3665 , and pray ^H6419 , and seek ^H1245 my face ^H6440 ^CMP-1MS , and turn ^H7725 ^W-VUY3MP from their wicked ^H7451 ways ^H1870 ; then will I ^H589 ^W-PPRO-1MS hear ^H8085 from ^H4480 ^PREP heaven ^H8064 ^D-NMD , and will forgive ^H5545 their sin ^H2403 , and will heal ^H7495 their land ^H776 .

19 But if ^H518 ^W-PART ye ^H859 ^PPRO-2MS turn away ^H7725 , and forsake ^H5800 my statutes ^H2708 and my commandments ^H4687 ^W-CFP-1MS , which ^H834 ^RPRO I have set ^H5414 ^VQQ1MS before ^H6440 you , and shall go ^H1980 and serve ^H5647 other ^H312 ^AMP gods ^H430 ^EDP , and worship ^H7812 them ;

20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots ^H5428 out of ^M-PREP my land ^H127 ^CFS-1MS which ^H834 ^RPRO I have given ^H5414 ^VQQ1MS them ; and this ^H2088 ^D-PMS house ^H1004 ^D-NMS , which ^H834 ^RPRO I have sanctified ^H6942 for my name ^H8034 , will I cast out ^H7993 ^VHY1MS of ^M-PREP my sight ^H6440 , and will make ^H5414 it to be a proverb ^H4912 and a byword ^H8148 among all ^H3605 ^B-CMS nations ^H5971 .

22 And it shall be answered ^H559 ^W-VQQ3MP , Because ^H5921 ^PREP they forsook ^H5800 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS God ^H430 ^CDP of their fathers ^H1 , which ^H834 ^RPRO brought them forth ^H3318 out of the land ^H776 ^M-NFS of Egypt ^H4714 ^EFS , and laid hold ^H2388 on other ^H312 ^AMP gods ^H430 , and worshiped ^H7812 them , and served ^H5647 them : therefore ^H3651 ^ADV hath he brought ^H935 ^VHQ3MS all ^H3605 ^NMS this ^H2063 evil ^H7451 ^D-AFS upon ^H5921 ^PREP them .
