1 तुम्हारा परमेश्वर कहता है, “चैन दे, चैन दे मेरे लोगों को!

2 तू दया से बातें कर यरुशलेम से! यरुशलेम को बता दे, ‘तेरी दासता का समय अब पूरा हो चुका है। तूने अपने अपराधों की कीमत दे दी है।” यहोवा ने यरुशलेम के किये हुए पापों का दुगना दण्ड उसे दिया है!

3 सुनो! एक व्यक्ति का जोर से पुकारता हुआ स्वर: “यहोवा के लिये बियाबान में एक राह बनाओ! हमारे परमेश्वर के लिये बियाबान में एक रास्ता चौरस करो!

4 हर घाटी को भर दो। हर एक पर्वत और पहाड़ी को समतल करो। टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी राहों को सीधा करो। उबड़-खाबड़ को चौरस बना दो।

5 तब यहोवा की महिमा प्रगट होगी। सब लोग इकट्ठे यहोवा के तेज को देखेंगे। हाँ, यहोवा ने स्वयं ये सब कहा है।”

6 एक वाणी मुखरित हुई, उसने कहा, “बोलो!” सो व्यक्ति ने पूछा, “मैं क्या कहूँ” वाणी ने कहा, “लोग सर्वदा जीवित नहीं रहेंगे। वे सभी रेगिस्तान के घास के समान है। उनकी धार्मिकता जंगली फूल के समान है।

7 एक शक्तिशाली आँधी यहोवा की ओर से उस घास पर चलती है, और घास सूख जाती है, जंगली फूल नष्ट हो जाता है। हाँ सभी लोग घास के समान हैं।

8 घास मर जाती है और जंगली फूल नष्ट हो जाता है। किन्तु हमारे परमेश्वर के वचन सदा बने रहते हैं।”

9 हे, सिय्योन, तेरे पास सुसन्देश कहने को है, तू पहाड़ पर चढ़ जा और ऊँचे स्वर से उसे चिल्ला! यरुशलेम, तेरे पास एक सुसन्देश कहने को है। भयभीत मत हो, तू ऊँचे स्वर में बोल! यहूदा के सारे नगरों को तू ये बातें बता दे: “देखो, ये रहा तुम्हारा परमेश्वर!

10 मेरा स्वामी यहोवा शक्ति के साथ आ रहा है। वह अपनी शक्ति का उपयोग लोगों पर शासन करने में लगायेगा। यहोवा अपने लोगों को प्रतिफल देगा। उसके पास देने को उनकी मजदूरी होगी।

11 यहोवा अपने लोगों की वैसे ही अगुवाई करेगा जैसे कोई गड़ेरिया अपने भेड़ों की अगुवाई करता है। यहोवा अपने बाहु को काम में लायेगा और अपनी भेड़ों को इकट्ठा करेगा। यहोवा छोटी भेड़ों को उठाकर गोद में थामेगा, और उनकी माताऐं उसके साथ-साथ चलेंगी। संसार परमेश्वर ने रचा: वह इसका शासक है

12 किसने अँजली में भर कर समुद्र को नाप दिया किसने हाथ से आकाश को नाप दिया किसने कटोरे में भर कर धरती की सारी धूल को नाप दिया किसने नापने के धागे से पर्वतों और चोटियों को नाप दिया यह यहोवा ने किया था!

13 यहोवा की आत्मा को किसी व्यक्ति ने यह नहीं बताया कि उसे क्या करना था। यहोवा को किसी ने यह नहीं बताया कि उसे जो उसने किया है, कैसे करना था।

14 क्या यहोवा ने किसी से सहायता माँगी क्या यहोवा को किसी ने निष्पक्षता का पाठ पढ़ाया है क्या किसी व्यक्ति ने यहोवा को ज्ञान सिखाया है क्या किसी व्यक्ति ने यहोवा को बुद्धि से काम लेना सिखाया है नहीं! इन सभी बातों का यहोवा को पहले ही से ज्ञान है!

15 देखो, जगत के सारे देश घड़े में एक छोटी बूंद जैसे हैं। यदि यहोवा सुदूरवर्ती देशों तक को लेकर अपनी तराजू पर धर दे, तो वे छोटे से रजकण जैसे लगेंगे।

16 लबानोन के सारे वृक्ष भी काफी नहीं है कि उन्हें यहोवा के लिये जलाया जाये। लबानोन के सारे पशु काफी नहीं हैं कि उनको उसकी एक बलि के लिये मारा जाये।

17 परमेश्वर की तुलना में विश्व के सभी राष्ट्र कुछ भी नहीं हैं। परमेश्वर की तुलना में विश्व के सभी राष्ट्र बिल्कुल मूल्यहीन हैं।

18 क्या तुम परमेश्वर की तुलना किसी भी वस्तु से कर सकते हो नहीं! क्या तुम परमेश्वर का चित्र बना सकते हो नहीं!

19 कुन्तु कुछ लोग ऐसे हैं जो पत्थर और लकड़ी की मूर्तियाँ बनाते हैं और उन्हें देवता कहते हैं। एक कारीगर मूर्ति को बनाता है। फिर दूसरा कारीगर उस पर सोना मढ़ देता है और उसके लिये चाँदी की जंजीरे बनता है!

20 सो वह व्यक्ति आधार के लिये एक विशेष प्रकार की लकड़ी चुनता है जो सड़ती नहीं है। तब वह एक अच्छे लकड़ी चुनता है जो सड़ती नहीं है। तब वह एक अच्छे लकड़ी के कारीगर को ढूँढता है। वह कारीगर एक ऐसा “देवता” बनाता है जो ढुलकता नहीं है!

21 निश्चय ही, तुम सच्चाई जानते हो, बोलो निश्चय ही तुमने सुना है! निश्चय ही बहुत पहले किसी ने तुम्हें बताया है! निश्चय ही तुम जानते हो कि धरती को किसने बनाया है!

22 यहोवा ही सच्चा परमेश्वर है! वही धरती के चक्र के ऊपर बैठता है! उसकी तुलना में लोग टिड्डी से लगते हैं। उसने आकाशों को किसी कपड़े के टुकड़े की भाँति खोल दिया। उसने आकाश को उसके नीचे बैठने को एक तम्बू की भाँति तान दिया।

23 सच्चा परमेश्वर शासकों को महत्त्वहीन बना देता है। वह इस जगत के न्यायकर्ताओं को पूरी तरह व्यर्थ बना देता है!

24 वे शासक ऐसे हैं जेसे वे पौधे जिन्हें धरती में रोपा गया हो, किन्तु इससे पहले की वे अपनी जड़े धरती में जमा पाये, परमेश्वर उन को बहा देता है और वे सूख कर मर जाते हैं। आँधी उन्हें तिनके सा उड़ा कर ले जाती है।

25 “क्या तुम किसी से भी मेरी तुलना कर सकते हो नहीं! कोई भी मेरे बराबर का नहीं है।

26 ऊपर आकाशों को देखो। किसने इन सभी तारों को बनाया किसने वे सभी आकाश की सेना बनाई किसको सभी तारे नाम-बनाम मालूस हैं सच्चा परमेश्वर बहुत ही सुदृढ़ और शक्तिशाली है इसलिए कोई तारा कभी निज मार्ग नहीं भूला।”

27 हे याकूब, यह सच है! हे इस्राएल, तुझको इसका विश्वास करना चाहिए! सो तू क्यों ऐसा कहता है कि “जैसा जीवन मैं जीता हूँ उसे यहोवा नहीं देख सकता! परमेश्वर मुझको पकड़ नहीं पायेगा और न दण्ड दे पायेगा।”

28 सचमुच तूने सुना है और जानता है कि यहोवा परमेश्वर बुद्धिमान है। जो कुछ वह जानता है उन सभी बातों को मनुष्य नहीं सीख सकता। यहोवा कभी थकता नहीं, उसको कभी विश्राम की आवश्यकता नहीं होती। यहोवा ने ही सभी दूरदराज के स्थान धरती पर बनाये। यहोवा सदा जीवित है।

29 यहोवा शक्तिहीनों को शक्तिशाली बनने में सहायता देता है। वह ऐसे उन लोगों को जिनके पास शक्ति नहीं है, प्रेरित करता है कि वह शक्तिशाली बने।

30 युवक थकते हैं और उन्हें विश्राम की जरुरत पड़ जाती है। यहाँ तक कि किशोर भी ठोकर खाते हैं और गिरते हैं।

31 किन्तु वे लोग जो यहोवा के भरोसे हैं फिर से शक्तिशाली बन जाते हैं। जैसे किसी गरुड़ के फिर से पंख उग आते हैं। ये लोग बिना विश्राम चाहे निरंतर दौड़ते रहते हैं। ये लोग बिना थके चलते रहते हैं।
